Nik hand chisels these with a fingernail file and continually taps the top to ensure the perfect tuning of the instrument. I haven't seen this level of attention to detail since the last time I was in Joe Shlabotnik's shop. Here is my X-ray of the guitar so you can see the level of detail that Nik puts into these....
