cmatthes Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Wow! Super early one too. I paid $165 for my black/rosewood one, but it was missing the pickups. You definitely scored!

JohnnyB Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Anyone out there help me with serial number? From the serial number you have a 1993. First number is the last digit of the year of manufacture, and the rest of the number is its approximate place in Hamer's manufacturing history. You can tell a 1993 from a 2003 because the 2003 will have a higher production number. That is a most excellent score! The dual blade humbucker at the bridge may well be better than the factory original, and the ding on the treble horn is worth it to get a guitar that nice for under $200. If you've never had locking tuners, you're in for a treat.
Steve Haynie Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 How did the rest of us miss that one? Was it up on eBay for an hour or so? That really was a deal!
esquared Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Nice guitar, great price! Thanks for sharing.I love my blue Daytona.
zenmindbeginner Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 I think that it was listed for $99 as a first bid with no takers for about 5 minutes. The seller then strangely listed it as a buy it now around $500 below it's value and it was gone within the whole time span of SEVEN MINUTES from when the auction began. Why the hell would anyone sell their Daytona for $200? Getting back at her husband by selling his $750 guitar for $200? Thought that they had waaay more crack then they thought that they had and had to buy several more rocks for an upcoming party? The seller might be developmentally disabled... Or maybe drunk auctioning? Whatever the reason CONGRATULATIONS man... you were certainly extremely lucky.
crunchee Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 I concur, great score, dammit dammit dammit! I HATE Ebay listings where they make you hunt for a specific item, rather than putting useful info (like Hamer USA) into the title. This doesn't just happen with guitars, either.
Wally Gator Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Or spelling their own title wrong so it never shoes up in a search. It's on the headstock, man!!
Pieman Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 This rivals the BIN $175 Eclipse about a year ago in both price aand speed of time to sale. I can't understand how people price these so low (but good for you) without looking completed listings to gauge the market price. Then again, these balance out the $1800 BIN Mirages.
Carl.B Posted January 12, 2010 Author Posted January 12, 2010 Thanks to everyone who has replied and commented. I will post pictures soon after it arrives in my my small chubby hands!
GaryT Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Yup excellent score. Right place at the right time.
