gorch Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 I think these kind of items need to find their buyer. So, one auction run would probably not make it. Usually, it requires distinct advertising to attract potential buyers of this league rather than going to ebay or CL.
serial Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 I was actually considering selling my red Proto (it's just like J H-S' red one), but I think this thread has me thinking otherwise. Damn, that's a cool guitar!

The Shark Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 I've watched this one before. I'm guessing it will top out above six, but not sell. I hear the Pretenders five days a week on the Rush Limbaugh show (mention not meant to strike up a political discussion). Always loved their "in the pocket" stuff. Somehow, I don't think this Hamer saw much action. It is beautiful.
BTMN Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Batman has 0189 I believe. Dave Hlubek 10/79(?)-mid '82 Ralph's Pawn Shop Jax, Fl. Mid '82-10/82 Mine 10/82- present......
BTMN Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 $425 With case on layaway, $50 down, for 60 days.
gorch Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Still a week to go. I don't think it will set a landmark.
livewire Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 $425 With case on layaway, $50 down, for 60 days. Sweet!

Hamerphite Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 7K is "All the Money", isn't it? just not all the money the seller wants
Thundernotes Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 --> QUOTE(Carl.B @ Oct 14 2010, 11:20 AM) ← But I am tempted to email the seller and ask for a better shot of the headstock (front & back) something dosen't look right about the Hamer logo position to me. No, that's where the logo used to be back then (and should be again, IMO)
princeofdarkness56 Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 I usually see the 4 digits with zebra pups but this one has the double black just like my buddies 4 digit. His serial number is close to this one. Any thing different with these pups from the zebra ?? I have a 81 special that came with double black too and I always wondered about that.
cmatthes Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 They typically had a double cream in the bridge, reverse (Hamer) Zebra in the neck after the earliest examples. That wasn't always the case though, but more often than not, that was the configuration.
mc2 Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Seller says the reserve on the Standard is "in the $20k range".........and that the white Prototype is "long gone."
