thought this might make for a cool thread - music videos with nice clear shots of Hamers.

here's one with Vernon Reid's E=MC2 guitar:

am trying to find a recent Styx live video with Tommy Shaw and his Cali doubleneck, no love so far on youtube...

May not be exactly what you're lookin' for, but lots 'o' kool basses;

.

IIRC, a few months back, someone posted "Walk the Dinosaur", and it had some shots of Stevie Salas slingin' a Trans Red TLE with boomers.

Oh yeah, that song was killer. Sweat Pea Atkins (lower pitched singer) bears a remarkable resemblance (voice and all) to the Gap Band's Charlie Wilson. You're dead on about that TLE, Looks just like the one that Greg used to play.

Good stuff and Don Was turned out to be a helluva producer.

Is that Marco Mendoza? Definitely a guido douchebag who visually ruins everything he's involved with.

First and second generation Italians usually don't care for pejorative slurs... I suppose there are many Italians that have a good sense of humor about it.

I find it in bad taste.

Was that the same TLE that was seen at the last Chicago gathering? Seems to me I saw that up on stage...

Was Humble Pie covering that? I thought Fastway with Fast Eddie Clarke did Say What You Will...

Did any of the U.K. Contingent (apart from me) spot Andy Summers playing a Hamer Standard in the BBC program a couple of nights ago about Reggae?

I'll see if I can find a way to post the clip.

Lucky for you then, that you didn't grow up around beautiful Schiller Park, IL, or the surrounding Melrose Park, Elmwood park, Franklin Park, River Grove neighborhoods - we used to use stuff like that among ourselves.

Maybe it's like someone who's black can use the "N" word, but don't let anyone else, although I've always found that stupid.

I think we got past it, and it was more said without malice.

FWIW - someone with the surname "Mendoza" likely doesn't qualify for the term. Or were you more upset with "douchbag"? (he says laughingly)

Yes. That's the worst part: he's a wannabe guido.

So, on that note, let's say "Jersey Shore douchebag" and leave it at that.

Chris - we used to tell ourselves that EVERYONE was a wannabe. I even remember T-shirts saying that there were 2 types of people. Italians, and those that wished they were.

That Jersey Shore crap is so embarrassing too. Makes me wonder if people used to look at us as that stupid back in the 70's - '80's.
