kizanski Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 First and second generation Italians usually don't care for pejorative slurs... I suppose there are many Italians that have a good sense of humor about it.I find it in bad taste.Well I am Italian from the Bronx, so forgive me if I consider myself something of an authority on this (a title I never wanted, believe me) but "Guido" is not a racial slur, like the N word, or even WOP or Dego. It's more of a personality trait or manner of behavior than it is a trait of ethnicity. For example, Snooki is not Italian, but she's as Guidette as they come. It's the way these douchebags behave and has little to do with their bloodline.
MCChris Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Now that an expert has chimed in, what about "guinea rat bastard"? "A Jew broad...prejudiced against Italians...in this day and age..."
Disturber Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Russian sex hotties TATU had a guitarplayer who played Monacos. Good taste in women, good taste in guitars.
Disturber Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Is that Marco Mendoza? Definitely a guido douchebag who visually ruins everything he's involved with. Marco Mendoza is one of the worst guys I've seen on a rock stage. With Whitesnake. He was so awful to watch I had to leave early.
bubs_42 Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Was Humble Pie covering that? I thought Fastway with Fast Eddie Clarke did Say What You Will...The other guitar player in that lineup was in Fastway I do believe.
LefThanDed Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Let's Active - "Every word Means No" (feat PUPPIES!)
RichRS6 Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Reggae Britannia. Andy Summers with a Standard in 1978 ish.Not quite a full video but interesting nonetheless, wonder what happened to this Standard ?Spot it from about 54:00 onwards.http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00ydp83/Reggae_Britannia/
kizanski Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Now that an expert has chimed in, what about "guinea rat bastard"? Or "guinea brat"...
RichRS6 Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Looks like my video was the same time these stills were taken.
Studio Custom Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I don't see maybe the most famous of all, Dirty Diana.
zenmindbeginner Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Let's Active - "Every word Means No" (feat PUPPIES!) Woah, that Cruise makes him look absolutely tiny!
zenmindbeginner Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 \FF to 1:12... That is like the best example I've seen yet. Good f**kin' eyes man, that shit is hard to see. Is that Rod Stewart's guitar player from the late 80's? Eddie sumthin'orother?
rj2858 Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Zen - if you're thinkin' of Eddie Martinez, I don't know about Rod Stewart in the late 80's, but he was playin' withRobert Palmer in the mid '80's, and here would be your proof; . Fast forward to 2:59 to see him manhandling an 'SS'
cmatthes Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Let's Active - "Every word Means No" (feat PUPPIES!) Woah, that Cruise makes him look absolutely tiny! That might be because "he" is a "she" - that's Faye Hunter. She still has that Lipstick Pink Cruisebass. She had a blue one but it was stolen/borrowed and never returned. Love Let's Active...
kizanski Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Is that Rod Stewart's guitar player from the late 80's? Eddie sumthin'orother? Yep. Eddie Martinez. He played on a lot of Run-DMC tunes. Here's another. (0:38)
Turdus Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 There's a Cruise bass in this one. When I saw these guys live in '83, the bass player had 2 of them, IIRC. The lead singer is in another semi popular band today. Who can name that band? CMatthes probably knows but he's disqualified for that very reason.
Bennyboy-UK Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Topgun Anthem video must be on this thread already?
Brooks Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Was Humble Pie covering that? I thought Fastway with Fast Eddie Clarke did Say What You Will...drummer jerry shirley was in both bands.
Camstone Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Lots of shots of Lyle Workman and his Hamer with Todd Rundgren live on the Nearly Human tour 1990.
Sparky Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 There are a number of videos on youtube of Jon Herrington playing steely dan tunes at the Iridium in New York. Just do a search on "Jon Herrington". He's using his Talladega Pro in most of them. Here's one:
sledhead44 Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 SKID ROW: 18 and LifePause it on 2:10. My favorite Hamer of all time!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAQq72ULF_g&feature=player_detailpage#t=130s
sledhead44 Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 MOTLEY CRUE: Home Sweet Home Maybe not "prominently" displayed, but it's there at 2:10
