murkat Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 This is my first in hand, eye balls sore, at admiring a Stike'd paint and flake job. You the man Ben. wow. Shawn's vision, project becomes reality. A leathel cocktail of just the right parts, wood, personality made this guitar a man's deam come true. Hat's off to ya man, you pulled it off.
murkat Posted August 24, 2012 Author Posted August 24, 2012 The Lenzilla LP getting its bowtie on... wyldbil on its top coat cure time. and playing with bursty colors on the GM tribute.

Bobby Marshall Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Great stuff. You may have put together more Hamers this year than Connecticut.

bcsride Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Nice. That is a phat cat in phantom/prototype/whatever is should be called now - correct? Seems a very cool idea.
murkat Posted August 24, 2012 Author Posted August 24, 2012 Nice. That is a phat cat in phantom/prototype/whatever is should be called now - correct? Seems a very cool idea.totally Shawn's idea, thinking and was spot on in the tone department and visual appeal. With the phat cat you get the P90 thing in spades with chime from the SB bridge. And with the stock single coil next to it...wow.You are in tele territory... snap, balls, chime, rawk. The two pickups together bring both tones to the palet without dominating either one. Very nice outcome on that.Then....On top of all that....the Tone control... OMG.Roll the tone back and it gets "vocal" with no mud at all.cocked wha ( think Mick Ronson ) no problem, in spades, in a very good way.
bubs_42 Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 I'm speachless! This was a great project and the people involved are tops in my book. I managed only to change directions once and it was early on in the process and that was the color choice. For me the Prototype/Phantom is Hamer's Guitar. The gap between the Original Proto and the Phantom didn't add up to me. I've owned both and I had a pretty distinct vision of the sounds I wanted to hear and a look that was classy yet modern. I can't wait to get my hands on it. Thanks to Jay, Ben, Mark and even though one of my pups didn't make it into the guitar Mikes Music for getting things done on the Seymour Duncan end of things.
Stike Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Shawn, Jay & Stike - that looks great! Nice job pulling a cool idea together.Hope to be ponying up with a Jay/Stike collaboration in the relatively near future as well...I might have to play one that at the Wizard Sleeves show on the 7th!

tbonesullivan Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Eventually, I'm gonna strip down my G&L SB-2 and send the body to stike for something gnarly. Just gotta... get motivated to strip all the crap on it off.

tbonesullivan Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 For a couple extry bucks I can do that nasty task for you. well.. I just blew a bunch on a used stingray 5. It'll be something to do in the future. Currently the bass has an "ok" finish of Chameleon RF09, a kind of blue purple flip flop. But there's some orange peeling, and I don't think any clear was put on top, AND it was sprayed over the original two tone sunburst finish. But, even with the flaws the Chameleon paint looks so awesome.
BTMN Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 WOW!! Just saw this Sparkly Good Thang! Cool ideas.
