It's legit. The seller is member "80burst" here. There is a serial number on it, it's just very hard to see. You can see it a little better in this thread: http://www.hamerfanclub.com/forums/topic/58383-new-guy-with-regarding-usa-standard-worth/?hl=michigan

I remembered it because he's in Michigan too. Good luck with the sale John!

I desire this.

(Johnny Cochran voice) "If you desire, then you must ACQUIRE!"

My favorite era for dot-neck Standards. Great, toneful planks. If I didn't have my black '95, I'd be on this like white on rice...

Looks REALLY nice, that does bring back many fond memories of multiple mid-'90's Hamers owned. Makes me wanna spend money and party...I mean, buy it like it's 1999 (the year, that is). B)

Hi Guys...

Yep, that is my 96. It is indeed a USA model and the serial # is very difficult to see, and even more difficult to photograph. I will make revisions to the listing to include the serial #.

Stratacus: thank you, Sir, for the PSA...much appreciated.

edit: pix of neck / weight / serial # all added to listing

Gotta love a dot neck Standard. If you play one it shows you only want to play the best, you just don't want to flaunt it.

It spells R.O.C.K. I want it. :D

Neck profile?

You know, I am not exactly sure, but, based on this image, I'd have to say D or U shaped. How do I go about determining the correct one? To me, it seems medium to a bit thick, if that makes sense.

You can measure from the top of the fretboard to the back of the neck with a calipers to determine neck thickness. Most like to know the measurements at the first, third, and twelfth frets. If you weren't three hours away I'd run over and help you check it. I would like to compare it to my "skinny neck" Standard.

Hey thanks for the info...I kinda figured I needed the calipers, and will get this info asap...

Is it a USA Hamer? Notice there is no serial number on the back of the Head-stock.

Thanks for the update, sorry I wasn't trying to disparage your guitar just couldn't see the serial number.

It is a sweet looking standard and good luck on the sale!

Ok, got myself some calipers and had quite a bit of fun :D .

I came up with the following:

~width at nut 4.125 cm ( 1.62 in )

~1st fret 2.18 ( .85 )

~ 2nd fret 2.19 ( .86 )

~12th fret 2.32 ( .91 )

Then, I did some digging here and found the dimensions I came up with are very close to these. http://www.hamerfanclub.com/stand3.html

edit:

Hamer comes Full Circle The Return of the Standard

From Hamer Tone vol.4, no.2 (1996)

Can anyone say for sure which neck type I have?

Thanks for that great info, mirrorimij. Sounds like mine is a typical standard from that era.

No international bids? Pfft

Wish I had the money for one of these! It has to be my next guitar (I just love explorer shaped guitars)...

Whoever just placed a second bid on this guitar, Thank You. The angel and the devil on my shoulders can shut up now ;)

Wow...I was nowhere near that. Now I'm just gonna have to wait for my gibby exp nat to arrive and try to enjoy it... however hard that might be

Someone sniped it at 1 second. Went from 1560 or so to 1680 give or take. Hope he gets paid. E-bay doesn't refund fees even when someone doesn't pay. They held $28 of mine for over a year. I finally sold something and owed them $7. They threatened to shut down my account (open since '97 I believe) if I didn't pay them in a couple days. Fuckers. I hate e-bay.
