Also, 100% true when they tell you they are "a Christian businessman".

HAHAHAHA! Matthes' rants on this subject are on par with my anti-eBay/ELO diatribes.

About a week after it was delivered i get an email from the buyer. "My luthier..." (red flag, just be honest n say "the guitar tech at Sam Ash").

Hahaha yep. The second someone drops the L word, you know you're dealing with a wannabe poseur asshole.

As sure a thing as when someone opens or closes a story with "true story" or "I swear to God this is true," said story is bullshit.

All luthiers are guitar repairmen but not all guitar repairmen are luthiers.

Matthes. No religion.

None delivered!

That's FACT.

I searched Christian businessman to try and figure this out but glazed over at the results. Long ass threads with LONG ass posts from people who don't post here anymore! :-)

Dear Penthouse Forum,

I never thought I'd be writing to you but this is a true story, it happened one July night at a truck stop in northeast Montana.........

uh huh.

I might add - certain fuckery follows anytime you hear "Let me be perfectly clear", or "Trust me"...

Also, 100% true when they tell you they are "a Christian businessman".

Liar and a thief every time they have to invoke that.

When I was selling CNC equipment I was working with a bible thumping high end manufacturer of rifle barrels. When I gave him a quote on a machine he said he needed to " consult with God" before he gave me a PO. You know what? God said my price was too high. I didn't know he was a financial advisor.

Now back to our regularly scheduled eBay rant.......

Mr. Rectum-Trauma's "see other items" list reveals an alarming number of genuine, collectable type witchcraft and occult books for sale in his "store" . So I guess we'll know if someone here "crosses the line" with him if they wake up in the morning as a newt or some crazy shit like that . . . . (lions and tigers and bears).

Good-fucking-grief, you couldn't make up shit this good if you tried.

FWIW, i have heard to remove the switch tip when shipping, not that there was any damage in this case from how it sounds. Glad it worked out. E Bay scares me for selling guitars.

'Tis true...I once shipped a Hamer USA Archtop GT to myself years ago (I was on temporary duty in the military someplace away from my primary station, but I still had to have a guitar!), and the switch snapped, just from the shock from being shipped, and I DID pack it well. Nothing else was harmed, and not a dent in the case or the box, either. I hadn't unscrewed the plastic switch tip from the switch itself, but ever since then I do, every time I've had to ship with those type of switches on the guitar!

I'll Echoplex that ... I had a switch tip shear off on a Standard I shipped to Switzerland to a fellow HFCer. No case or box damage for me either, I packed it to survive a war, and the guitar was perfect except for that sheared tip. PIA however, in that the European buyer had to go round up another switch tip.
