Something Wicked This Way Comes

Thanks for all the encouraging and kind comments, guys. I feel incredibly lucky as I watch all this unfold - these are ideas I've had in my head for the best part of 6 years now - but it's taken a true artisan like Mike to make them come alive. Every Ultimate he's produced has been ten shades of killer - all different, all individual, but all absolutely super. He really is an incredible craftsman.

Mike's told me that he's had a lot of fun doing this, because he really enjoys doing this kind of detail work - and there's still a lot more to come in terms of the hardware and other embellishments which are being incorporated into #0666.

Anticipation ain't the word ......

That's the coolest creation I had the chance to experience here on the board in 8 years. And there were quite some. I love to see the final result. Maybe I will buy a ticket once, just to see it in action. Any chance to see Hell with Rock am Ring in Germany?

Sure, right after their North American tour. :)

Funnily enough - we just had a Skype conversation with our booking agent an hour ago, and Rock Am Ring was one of the festivals we talked about. We already played Wacken, Rock Hard, Bang Your Head, Summerbreeze, Turock Open Air, Rockharz Open Air, Metalfest and a whole bunch of other stuff in Germany over the last coupla years  - and we also toured Germany twice with Accept and Amon Amarth. Will let you know if it comes off :)

During the same conversation, we got offered the fall North American tour with Hammerfall. Will similarly let you know if we can make it work financially.

How long does Fed Ex take to get to you?

It's a 7-day service, not including the time spent in customs. Fed Ex are pretty good though - they'll call me when the guitar hits my local depot in the UK and I go collect it.

What isn't good, is the additional pile of money which has to be paid to them - import taxes (we even get charged tax on the cost of the shipping FFS) and UK VAT at 20%. It adds over $600 to the landed cost and all that money goes straight to the Government. It sucks. But #0666 is more than worth it :)

Chris, that's like saying that The Grand Canyon is a hole in the ground :) I think this is best summed up by another poster on this thread who said that Mike was just about to drop 'the ICBM of the Ultimate world ....' He was right. And I still have absolutely no idea what the 'surprise' which Mike has added to this.......

I would be struggling to sleep I'd be so excited.  Yep. I am expecting a not so nice extra taxation when my Shishkov hits these shores.

in my experience the customs part can add anything between two and seven days to the time quoted for shipping.  Thats the bad part about the uk...

In all my years, I NEVER lifted a mini-skirt to discover horns and a quilted figure. But, hey, I've lived a sheltered life!

Almost worth a trip to the US with a couple of empty cases as baggage...

Yeah, I assure you - horns, goat heads and such were not anywhere in my mind when I posted my obvious failure at attempting high school humor! :)
