#0666's first live show will be at the Uprising one-day indoor festival in the UK which we are headlining on 4th June, just a few weeks away. We have drafted in a wonderfully talented friend of ours, a girl named Soile Siirtola from Finland (Our #1 favourite live show photographer) to capture the event, so a bunch of killer live shots will be forthcoming. The choicest ones will be reserved for Mike, his website, and his publicity purposes as per my long-standing promise to him & Trish. The 'best of the rest' will go on here first :)

Hey Kevin - do you use any trem blocking things?

Only when I'm using a Floyd-equipped guitar for recording. When I'm sitting down, I have a tendency to rest my hand on the bridge which obviously then puts pressure on the springs, putting the guitar marginally out of tune. So I'll use a regular trem-stop device in that instance. Almost all recording is done using either a hardtail guitar of something with an Evertune bridge for this reason, in fact, unless there's a specific part where some Floyd action is needed :)

Live - I don't use anything. There are so many stage temperature variation and consequent string tension issues that it's a nightmare getting the things perfectly set up.

I enjoyed this journey so much I just re-read the whole thing from the very beginning once again.   Everything about this thread is why I love the HFC so much.  Thanks Kev for letting us take this journey with you.

Btw, I have to say that is the second best looking Shishkov I have ever seen. ;-)

Any thoughts on getting a hartail version of this guitar as a companion?

A hardtail would be super, but I'd only ever use it for recording, so it would largely become a case queen - total sacrilege for an instrument of this quality. So on that basis alone it would be a 'no'. But I'm not saying that #0667 will never happen ..... :)

Thanks, hikarateboy. And this thread, along with all the awesome and encouraging posts, is exactly why I love it here, too. What a great bunch of people. As for mine being the second best looking, I'm sure your opinion is shared by every other Ultimate owner (with their own as #1) - and of course, they're all correct. Every one's been a total gem.

#0667 in BLOOD RED, perhaps?

Actually, one is "Volume".  The second one is "More Volume".

I doubt this. Pretty sure a) The guitar is always on 10. And b ) when he spins them, demons are summoned from below.

That said, dear gawd, is that quilt superb. Trans black quilt always gives me a chubby. The entire axe is a piece of art. Look forward to seeing Kev play it!

Another masterpiece in a one of a kind kinda way. How Mike nails it every time is amazing. Even though they have all been special this one takes the bar up a notch.      Good Luck with her and enjoy!

I think Mike wants to wait until he's got some of his more original designs out for review.  He has already had discussions with at least one major Guitar magazine with regards to reviewing his prototype(s).

More to come, for sure...

I'd be delighted to put in a word at the swankiest boutique UK guitar store at the right time for Mike.

I was lucky enough to get a tiny US maker lined up with an exclusive deal over here. That led to a 5/5 review in Guitarist magazine and off the back of that a pile of orders.

The sadly late owner, was a massive Hamer fan, particularly of the 80s shredders and ran one of the biggest guitar stores over here for years.

Gis a shout, I'd love to help!

#0666 made its stage debut last weekend  - we came out of the cabin-fever studio for a day, to headline the one-day Uprising Festival in Leicester, UK. The guitar has now been properly 'baptized' and is complete with its first pyrotechnic burn mark, its first flightcase-catch ding, its first complete soaking in sweat, and its first exposure to EVERY other guitar player in EVERY other band on the bill, asking what it was, and where I got it. I look forward to spreading the word as much as possible when we finish the next album, and get out touring and doing large-scale festivals again. Another remarkable real-world discovery (amongst #0666's other outstanding attributes) is its ability to stay totally bang in tune under intensely hot stage lights, whilst being shredded only yards away from six high-pressure propane gas burners operating on full bore. I've no idea how Mike pulls off that piece of voodoo, but my life just got so much easier.... these pics are heavily compressed, watermarked versions of a few I've sent to Mike, but enjoy nonetheless ...... :)

Haven't been following until now and holy hell! That's some sick sh*t, Kev!  Congrats and for what it's worth, you get the Diablo (heh heh) seal of approval for choosing Floyded and reversed head stock!

Well, hurry up now, or you might be too late for #667. :P

BTW, I can picture the guys in the other bands saying "where the HELL did you get this guitar from?"

Thank you for bothering to post that. While most of us  won't be playing by a wall of fire anytime soon, I find details and perspectives like this riveting.

I'm such a sucker for a twin guitar attack.  Awesome pic.

Are you still liking the width of the fretboard?  I remember reading that it was a little wider (string placement was the same) and was wondering if it changed how your hands felt after playing for a while?  Hopefully I didn't mis-remember.
