ARM OF HAMER Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Both mine. And BOTH amazing guitars of that I'm sure!.
Northsider Posted January 13, 2016 Author Posted January 13, 2016 What do you think each one could sell for?
Boomerang~Junkie Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Damn, I want a Triple Threat BADLY. It's all Don's fault.
Northsider Posted January 13, 2016 Author Posted January 13, 2016 If they only knew. Both is the correct answer.
Michael_B Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 In my opinion, the TT is a superior instrument by every objective measure, but the subjective aspects are significant. Personally, I prefer the the 79-80 Sunbursts that I've played. Getting both to decide was the way to go. Glad that you could swing it. Dibs on whichever one you let go.
Bennyboy-UK Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 I think the sunburst, mainly because it's to me it's what I think of first when I think Hamer. Also, I don't really know what a triple threat is
django49 Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 I think the sunburst, mainly because it's to me it's what I think of first when I think Hamer. Also, I don't really know what a triple threat is Certain people involved in recent debates. But I do not want to make this POLITICAL!
BadgerDave Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 What do you think each one could sell for?Based on recent sales, I'd say TTs are now in the $3,000 - $3,500 range.Sunbursts vary a lot based on condition, originality, OHSC, etc., but a B&C version in very good condition, all original with case would be $2,000 - $2,500. More for one in a color other than sunburst or natural.
BruceM Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Change those motherlickin' knobs!!! This meme illustrates the importance of the comma. Punctuation matters, people!

kizanski Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Change those motherlickin' knobs!!! This meme illustrates the importance of the comma.Punctuation matters, people! LOL that mustache would imply an absence of comma, though.
MCChris Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 LOL that mustache would imply an absence of comma, though. He's probably wearing white New Balances too.

pirateflynn Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Variances are more pronounced on the early Sunbursts but you'll have a unique historic guitar if you get ahold of a good one. A good one could mean all original (or close), in nice shape without issues, and with a neck size you prefer. The necks differ from piece to piece with most being slim to medium. The medium large necks aren't that common and large is pretty rare.I really like the Triple Threat run. I have owned only one but I'm sure they are super consistent, all with a killer rounded '59 neck. It's really cool but there are plenty of companies currently making a similar guitar.I'd go with the Sunburst.
django49 Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 I should play such a Sunburst. Have not, yet. I HAVE owned three of the TTs. The last one is unlikely to ever leave my possession.ETA....I just might direct that it be sent along with me when I go......Best of all the Hamers I have ever owned (IMHO).
KofSeattle Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 If you ever sell the TT please let me know.
