Turns out the number 73 carries some weight for me. '73 is the year I bought the first album I ever used my own money to buy (Goodbye Yellow Brick Road), and the year I really got turned on to music. That summer I went to a day camp that required a 45 minute ride each way-the camp used giant station wagons to pick up and drop off.The counselors drove, and looking back I realize that they were probably high a lot of the time. Every day I would hang out the back window of the Blue Dodge wagon and groove to the radio-the summer of '73 was a pretty amazing time for radio. So diverse, and so many unbelievable songs-take a look at this list of songs released as single that year.

I'd have to say that those car rides are what really threw the music switch for me. I didn't pick up the guitar until a few years later (I was taking piano lessons at the time), but I became a full fledged music nut that summer.

I'm not a big fan of The Big Bang Theory, but Sheldon's explanation of why 73 is his favorite number and the best number is relevant too.

Sheldon often wears vintage T-shirts adorned with superhero logos. One of his shirts is emblazoned with the number 73, and in the episode "The Alien Parasite Hypothesis" he explains that 73 is the 21st prime number, its mirror, 37, is the 12th prime number and its mirror (21) is the product of multiplying 7 and 3, also in binary, 73 is a palindrome, 1001001 which backwards is 1001001.

So we have a Rush reference too, in the form of 1001001 from "The Body Electric".

The year I was born.  I have always liked various combinations of 3 & 7- esp. 33, 77, and 73.  33 has always been what I considered my lucky number.

That's ok, but don't forget the other epic tunes from 1973, Camarillo Brillo, I'm the Slime, Dinah Moe Humm, Montana, Dirty Love, Fifty-Fifty, Zomby Woof, by the late, great Frank Zappa and the Mothers.

Oh, and lest we forget Ry Cooder in 1973

1973 was a good year.  So, if that’s any indication, #73 should be a fantastic guitar.

I immediately went to song #73 and laughed out loud.    I thought FC was referring to song #73 at first, that's what I get for reading just the first line.

Now if Kiz was into say number #99

For me #55 is about as good as it gets on that list.

I'll give this a bump

Not sharing any pics per request. Final neck carve in progress-everything I have seen so far exceeds all my expectations and really reflects what I saw in my head when I placed

the order. I was a little apprehensive at times about the little twist I requested but once again Mike knew exactly how to handle it. I think it came out killer.

Finish choice is going to be difficult. My original vision is not off the table, but I have some other ideas that are getting in the way. I will also give Mike every chance to give me good guidance.

When you see it, it will be clear. I struggled toward the end, but the finished result came out better than I could have imagined. The ticket for me was to see the mock up with the hardware sitting on the guitar.

I'm sure your guitar will be great.  But back to 1973:  #48 and 68 are pretty wretched songs. I'm pretty sure other horrible songs are in that list, too.
