Jakeboy Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 7 month wait. Worth every second. 20 watts of Marshall goodness. Does tweed Bassman, JTM, JMP, JCM, JCM boosted. Needs no pedals. It has old tubes and the amps morphs into a monster when the master hits 8 or above. It even has nice Marshall cleans, but it is made to rock. Emplexador preamp (68 plexi) married to a 20 watt OT and 2 6v6s.., yes, 6v6s. GZ34 rectifier. I have had a lot of great amps over the years but this may be the best.
Feynman Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 Just as importantly, it looks cool. I can feel your enthusiasm from here. Congrats.
Travis Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 Congrats! Glad the wait was worth it. What’s the speaker again?
Steve Haynie Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 Can we all come over to try it out? Every TopHat amp has been impressive.
Jakeboy Posted June 28, 2022 Author Posted June 28, 2022 Speaker installed is. G12H30. I can a couple cabs with Greenbacks and it sounds wonderful with those too. Anyone who comes to mid-MO is welcome to play it or any others. I should work up an HFC jam In KC. Brian does make great amps. The Supreme 16 kills for Vox tones or Marshall 18 watt tones. I did record a solo with it on a song with the G&L Legacy I picked up and it records great. I’ll post something here soon with it. Maybe 0006 playing some AC/DC riffs. Brian at TopHat positively RAVED about how great it sounded and he was right. I am done with amps. I have 5 incredible examples and need nothing else, amp-wise.
DaveH Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 Man, I'd love to get my grubby mitts on that for a while! Congrats and enjoy!
Jakeboy Posted June 29, 2022 Author Posted June 29, 2022 The three switches do this: 1. Hi/Lo gain switch. Hi gain for the Late plexi & JCM tones. Low gain for 5f6a- JTM-early plexi. 2. Brite Switch…A= American brightness..,think JTM. Off=5f6a. B=British Plexi/JCM and with the volume down it adds a lot of gain. 3. EQ switch…Fat for JTM, Off for 5f6a, British for 70s metal face plexi and JCM. Extremely easy to dial in the Marshall tone in your head. And the Master is almost as good as the one on the Valvetech Vac by which I will always judge other MVs.
Greg G Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 Congrats, Mark! I have the little 11-watt version and I love it.

Jakeboy Posted June 30, 2022 Author Posted June 30, 2022 Brian Gerhard. He LOVES talking amp circuits!
hamerican gigolo Posted July 8, 2022 Posted July 8, 2022 I had a Club Deluxe yrs ago & sold it like an idiot. 😞 Great amps & the quality is top notch. Play it in good health... 👍
Jakeboy Posted July 12, 2022 Author Posted July 12, 2022 Thanks! I am LOVING at his amp. It is #1 now. The other Top Hat and the Valvetech are fighting for second place.
