Hbom Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 Not mine. topekatj Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 Don’t be concerned about the blue hue of the Daytona, for whatever reason SFG looks Robin egg blue in photos.
Cboss Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 What would a store like that give an owner selling it to them, for instance for the prototypes? They're listing each at 1450 free shipping.. what would be some educated guess as to what they actually paid the seller?

I got $900 in trade on a 2010 Dean Z at my local GC. They priced it at $1599, so who knows?
stedge Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 My local shop gives 75pct to the seller on consignment. Should get at least that ow u r gettin screwed. if you sell outright tot he shop expect less. 60pct or so.
mirrorimij Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 Regarding the Daytona. I have no knowledge of that particular guitar just a general question to HFC because my memory is fading on some of these things….. Was Seafoam green offered in 1993 (which is the neck serial number). It seemed like most of the early ash bodied/maple neck Daytonas were 2 tone Sunburst or transparent colors. I thought the solid colors came with the switch to alder which came later. Does anyone else have an opaque color Daytona from 1993?

Guitar Centers in the Chicago area pay 60% of the estimated retail value (based on recent Reverb sales). Cash or trade value. I expect CME would be in the same ballpark.

Hbom Posted August 23, 2023 Author Posted August 23, 2023 Looking through those today, it's interesting that all the Hamers are for sale with shipping, except the Daytona! "Local Pickup only." WTF?

Which makes me think there's a decent chance the one at CME is a refin.

Cboss Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 I think they randomly throw that in there..local pickup only; there was a Bogner 2x12 cabinet that I looked at earlier in the week that originally was local pickup only, I asked why that is and they decided that they would ship it.. why local pickup only in the first place? Who knows

burningyen Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 Glad the '81 Proto sold, that was killing me.
