ChugD Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 This is on Reverb but would rather sell off-platform. It is pretty flawless. I did change out the tuning machines with drop in locking ones since the originals were just so unstable. The originals are included with the sale. No holes drilled. Also had my luthier go through it. It really is a great guitar or I would never put it up among the Hamer elite here if it wasn't. Auction for more info and pics: https://reverb.com/item/73171775-hamer-usa-standard-futura-1999-natural-korina $3000 plus $100 for overnight shipping (I get a cheap rate). Thanks.
shankyboy Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 Oh my! That's a nice one. I did not know that they made a Futura that wasn't a Rick Nielsen signature edition. Cool! GLWTS.
Jakeboy Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 Hamer elite? I am surprised y’all even let me in here. Cheap $350 bastages….
currypowder Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 This was mine at one point. I'm not sure if I sold it to the OP or if it passed through someone else. What I do recall is that it is a fantastic piece of Hamer history. It was part of a special, very limited run of Korina Standards and Futuras for the Japan market. I imported it back to the States from Japan.
ChugD Posted October 5, 2023 Author Posted October 5, 2023 Thank you curry. That makes sense. It has some documentation in Japanese which confused me for a usa made guitar.
Cboss Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 I was just wondering about that.. this is some stilted language for a USA guitar " this guitar may be special gold sword to strike any kind of your music" 🤣 Damn, I need a gold sword to strike my music! Take that amplifier

Those picks are early HFC logo picks with gold foil stamping on one side and “Chris’ Pick” on the other. The blue marble matched a Californian Elite I had at the time…
1 bottlerocket Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 That looks like it would have an awesome stage presence. I think you would have to tote the note to live up to that guitar. If I had the chops I would be all over that!

I have a (non Hamer) guitar in process coming from Japan through a proxy. It feels like there are a hundred places where this can go bad but maybe because this is my first venture into international shipping. I am nervous but I mentally prepared myself to lose it all.

What proxy and shipper did you use? I have had many guitars come to me from Japan via a proxy. Issues have been very rare, I expect all will be well.

If you're buying from a reputable company, you should have no problems whatsoever. FWIW, every single guitar I've had shipped to me from Japan has arrived sooner than expected, and in pristine condition. Best of luck with your new toy!
gorch Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 Very nice peace of guitar. Good luck with the sale.
ChugD Posted October 17, 2023 Author Posted October 17, 2023 Bump it up. This is a super clean guitar.
ChugD Posted November 14, 2023 Author Posted November 14, 2023 Lowering the price to $3500 and including a few more pics. I currently have a few other standards around this vintage, and I have to say, this is the most resonant acoustically of them all by a good margin in a back to back comparison. Might be the best sounding plugged in as well.

ChugD Posted December 26, 2023 Author Posted December 26, 2023 Final price drop. $3000 plus $100 for shipping (it will likely cost more).
JES1680 Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 Damn just telling my wife I wanted a korina explorer Had a Gibson Futura for a short time and this would have killed it. Hope the new owner enjoys it.
