  1. A girl?? Oh. My. God. 2nd rule (right after NSOS): no chicks in the band.
  2. Chris wins.....again...... '94 Eclipse: Forgotten Goya: Bottom-of-the-line Taylor: IYV strung in Nashville tuning (well, not in this picture...): ..... sounds great. It's perfect for giving doubled parts an added shimmer or to make a chorus section pop. It's extremely effective without the tuning headaches. Highly recommended. My recently-acquired T-51F will probably end up with it. And even the low-end Taylors still have that sound (which - to me - sounds like Jimmy Page's recorded acoustics). Very lush. I like it a lot.
  3. Robert Plant?
  4. The Yardbirds and almost-Zeppelin bassist was 79. https://americansongwriter.com/original-yardbirds-guitarist-chris-dreja-dead-at-79/ R.I.P. Mr. Dreja.

  6. Still love CCR. And John's solo stuff is really good. But it never captured the vibe of the original band. That rhythm section - Stu Cook and Doug Clifford - never got the credit they deserved, nor did brother Tom. John was the brains, but those guys were the backbone.
  7. That's either the longest neck or the tiniest body of any bass I've ever seen.
  8. That IS the original gold hardware, just worn away.
  9. Same.
  10. Great story and the connection to your Dad, Ernie. Love the spalted top, too!
  11. "Located in: Panama City, Florida, United States".
  12. I had mine waaaay before anybody heard of this guy. What's his name again?
  13. They're re-issuing those Norlin pancake boat anchor pieces of crap?? Still #1, all 10.2 lbs of it. Pretty sure it came with medium jumbos, although that was 46 years - and 2 fret jobs - ago.
  14. Bring-me-down moment: 'Balance' came out in 1995. It's 30 years old.
  15. Like it's no big deal. DUDE! That's huge! How many times do you get a stolen anything back?? And very cool that you're making this happen. That's allotta karma points. Congrats all around!
  16. The Danelectro Chili Dog works great, too.
  17. Too much delay, Dave. Back that down a bit.
  18. The OCD v2 is smoother that previous versions and a great pedal for soloing. If I already didn't have one....
  19. I snagged Kiz's Hercules hangers (the best out there) when he downsized and swapped them for the cheapos seen here: I screwed pallet boards to the studs and was free to place the guitars however I wanted. The unexpected benefit is the humidity stays really stable. And if you saw the rest of this blown-up room, you'd think this looks great. And never - I mean NEVER - use fucking drywall anchors. Well, unless you like broken gear.

  21. I used to like the Gator stuff - until the zipper breaks a year later (my experience on several items) and they won't stand behind it. Waaay too much money for a non-functional piece of gear with no manufacturer's support.
