An LP-only buddy of mine NEVER played a Strat. I mean literally - after 50 years of playing - had never tried one. Friday I sent him home with my Daytona after he discovered how the intro to 'Free Ride' was supposed to sound. Seeing the light bulb come on for him was a treat. Speaking of headphones, the neighbor kid (my great-nephew) wants to learn the drums and - as an enabler- I got him a Yamaha electronic kit off craigslist for $150. Nice set, lotta stuff with it, works/sounds great. Perfect starter set while keeping the parents sane, I thought. Digging through the box that came with it, I found a shitty pair of Radio Shack 'phones AND a pair of HD558 Sennheisers. I hadn't heard the 558s before. They sound fantastic (I use HD280s for recording and HD600s for awesomeness, and these fit perfectly in between). Guess which neighbor kid is getting my old Sonys....

My buddy is out walking his dog and comes upon a yard sale. Amongst the ruins is this old POS....with a $20 tag on it. Realizing he has no cash on him, he sprints back to his apartment, grabs his wallet that contains his card so he can get to the ATM and back to the sale before it disappears. Apparently it was a slow sales day... He says everything in it dates to '67. I'm no expert on any of that, but the thing is disgustingly clean. He brought it over and - because he lives in an apartment - says "Turn it up". I did. OMFG. I instantly understood the Princeton magic. Absolutely glorious. For $20.

The ChillyBo and Kirebird both fit in the Explorer bag, and it's a much better bag than it should be for $30. Nice! The acoustic bag is....well, it's a bag. Not too much padding, but seems well-made. For $20, it's still waaay better than no bag at all.

Pizza and beer day? ETA: That's wild. Of the 5 strings-through guitars here (3 Hamers, a Shishkov and a Mitchell), all but the Mitchell (GC's house brand) are dead-nuts straight-edge straight. Yours looks like the new guy free-handed it at 4:00 on Friday. Spacing looks good, though.
