  1. That price is becoming more of the ballpark. Might be a little high given the non-original parts, but we're almost to the '$1350 is the new $350' point.
  2. That is the only 're-boot' Hamer I've ever seen. Looks nice. Not that it matters, but where are they making those?
  3. A quick search shows nobody makes bell-shaped concentric knobs. Somebody might, but I didn't find it. You could keep two bell knobs in the first 2 positions by leaving them as regular volume controls, then use a concentric pot w/ master tone in the third. Just pleasepleaseplease don't drill it.
  4. Had one exactly like that in the early '80s. It's what started the whole Junior thing for me. Sold it to pay the rent (somewhere around $300). Still bums me out.
  5. There was nothing about that kid that didn't impress the hell out of me. He is absolutely on top of every facet of his music. Wicked talent there.
  6. https://www.guitarplayer.com/guitarists/due-to-serious-illness-i-am-unable-to-perform-im-gutted-health-issues-force-brian-setzer-to-regrettably-make-last-minute-cancellation-of-stray-cats-show-this-past-saturday-on-the-opening-night-of-their-tour I don't know if this has been posted here before, but I hope he can somehow overcome it. Damn.
  7. Yep, same here - love the look, can't deal with the skinny neck.
  8. ^^^^Yeah, Ben's option would be solid, original and cheaper: Plus, that thing is clean.
  9. $20K? They've had some of what Marvin Berry and the Starlighters were smoking. The case is cool, though.
  10. Back when bands weren't autotuned/pitchcorrected/computerized into a steaming pile and still sounded fucking great. I always forget just how good these guys were live.
  11. ^^^But how brave do you want to be with a $3K guitar? Also, the ones used for pegboard - DON'T DO IT! Learnt the hard way - the 'weld' broke and dropped a relatively light guitar onto my LP. I was saddened by the occasion.
  12. Fits: LP, Hamer Special/Junior/Studio/Artist, Shishkov DC (with a little coaxing), Mitchell MS450 (a bit loose). I'm sure there's more, but that's what I got. I use one in place of my original 46-year-old LPC case. It's a great snug fit and far more robust.
  13. As a Gator Hater, this hurts. But these are great cases and that's a great price. https://www.musiciansfriend.com/stupid Gator Flight Pro V2 TSA Series ATA Molded Gibson Les Paul Guitar Case The Gator Flight Pro TSA ATA Molded Gibson Les Paul guitar case is built for players who demand serious protection for their treasured Les Paul. 14. What I liked best about Ace was his sense of humor. Gene would sit with a stick up his ass and Ace would be cracking jokes in spite of himself. He also had some good riffs that a young wanna-be me could steal and show off to the girls. Thanks and R.I.P., Ace. Rock and Roll wouldn't have been the same without you.
  15. I hate that guy. It made my head hurt.
  16. Love the sound of good Firebird pickups. And the Orange Sparkle finish is one of Hamer's best. If it wasn't for that damn Bigsby....... Congrats!
  17. $500 for a set-neck Chap that was mostly there?? No-brainer. Somebody stole it.
  18. Every time - the craftsmanship in these pictures just blows me away. Another amazing piece. Congrats all around!
  19. I'm not a bass player, but that guy was amazing, way underrated. His lines rivaled any of the best out there. My older sister had the Moody Blues in heavy rotation back in the day so I had plenty of exposure. Weed out the overblown bits and there was a great band underneath. Prog before prog was cool? R.I.P., Mr. Lodge. And thank you.
  20. OK, this looks kinda cool. Not $200 cool, or even $100 cool, but it's a neat idea. https://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessories/gravity-stands-guitar-glow-stand-a-frame/m11824000000000 ...and maybe my drummer wouldn't trip over my f***in' guitar stands on an unlit stage.
  21. First off - shut up, Arnie! EJ has been my favorite guitarist since Ah Via Musicom and I've never seen him live/in person. I've seen enough concert video to know he can get bogged down with technique sometimes where fluid simplicity would work better, but he just can't help himself. He always seems to be reaching for something, instead of just having fun and letting it rip. Still love him - his recorded soundscapes are the best. I wish I could have seen him 30 years ago. I can't remember when/if he played around here, but probably should go see him before one of us dies.
