As I was searching through old posts I started recognizing names. So a few of you are regular posters. I accidently ran my mouse over a name when I was going to hit the back button or something. A window popped up and said, "Message," etc. but then I noticed it listed join date and last login date. It seems there was an exodus between 2021 and 2024. And these were users who had hundreds of posts. So it's not like they just drifted off. Posts used to get hundreds of views, some into the thousands, but now it doesn't seem there is as much interest. Kind of sad because Hamer is the only guitar I would buy online sight unseen because I knew the quality would be there. Can't say that for many brands like G and F.

There's also been an aging out for a lot of members.  This forum has been around for almost 30 years - we were the second gear-related page/message board (The Tele Discussion Page was earlier by a few months).  There were people participating a lot here in the 90s and early 2000s that are in their 70s  now, and have other things going on besides guitars/music/Hamers.  There are a large number of people who were super into Hamers for a few years, and then they movedon to something else.  We've seen it all around here...

I wasn’t here in the beginning.  But I think I’ve been on here for over 20 years. I did have a couple years in the middle where I was absent because life got in the way. 

I’ve been a member of a few different forums. JCF (Jackson/Charvel) was my first, Seymour Duncan, Carvin, maybe a couple of others. This is the only one I’ve stayed on the entire time. 

my wife frequently makes comments about me being on the Hamer forum too much. She can kick rocks. 

people come and go. Hamer production may have ceased (in the way we know and love), but y’all are always still here.

Yeah, you should have been here during "the drama" years in the mid 2000's. 😅 The place has not been the same since it got cleaned up. Still just as fun to hang here though. And lots of knowledge. Not just about Hamer guitars, but guitars and music in general. There are regular posters who disappeared that I miss. But some come back, like @Feynman and others that were away for a while. I used to visit several guitar message boards but these days this is the only one I visit regularly. 

I think maybe the three (or more?) Hamer groups on Facebook has taken over some of the action. But those are not as fun as this place.

  Btw. I did move on to Gibson (three Murphy Labs that I love) Nash, Rock N Roll Relics and parts builds… and a Dean time capsule that I get to look at every day. still a soft spot for hamer (artist and eclipse).   If you can get em for a good deal and they aren’t abused… they’re as good a value as anything.   Wish I grabbed that M3 dirt cheap at Dave’s this week.

I did a search on weed-addled posts and Thorn. Zero results. What is this debauchery I'm missing? Weed-addled is something I need to explore.

Michael is my friend to this day.  He's gone through so much.  His first born was killed in a tragic accident.  I attended his surviving son's recitals at Stetson University.  He was fantastic.  I wish he was still here.  Kind of like Greg.

I was a little confused so I searched snakes and a bunch of f**k snakes came up in the results. Then I remembered from a few days ago and searched snakes+weed+thorn and still much of the same but a lot more results because of the added words and I found this thread with birthday wishes to, "Thorn." But, no thorn replies. From the birthday wishes though it seems possibly they were punked?
