The Bluetooth editing and saving has been unreliable with my iPhone 17 Pro, but it works well via USB and is pretty freakin' fun: awesome! I'll have to watch this after work. I've been really wanting to try this. 3 1 Quote

Got this Firefly Solstice (and the 2 Hamers): And then there's this pile of amps: Blackstar Fly, Pignose, Crate VC508, SuperChamp XD and a Pignose G60VR. Long story: Tony, our harp player, songwriter and all-around great guy, left the building. His kids were putting most of his things on an estate sale. His daughter calls and says we should come and get whatever band/music stuff we wanted. He had PILES of stuff. I had sold him this SuperChamp some years earlier and he used it for everything, so getting it back has some meaning. The small Pignose had a great story of him just cussing it out when he couldn't get it to work right. God that was funny. Makes me laugh just seeing it. I'll never forget it. The battery-powered Blackstar was just something he messed with. He was always messing with something. He left a stack of 'projects'. The big Pignose and the Crate went unclaimed by the other band guys so I grabbed them, figuring I could donate them to the school. Turns out the Crate is a 5-watt tube amp and just a little ripper! The big Pignose is a 60-watt tube face melter. Holy hell that thing gets loud! I thought they were both solid state! So, a little strange this year. NOT the way I'd choose to get amplifiers but I'm sure he's happy I got them. He was funny like that. Sorry for your loss. Getting gear that way has got to be bittersweet. 4 Quote

crunchee Posted December 22, 2025 Posted December 22, 2025 (edited) This came to me via UPS yesterday: Gretsch G5420TG Electromatic Hollow Body with Bigsby, Gold Hardware 2018 - 2019 - Black | Reverb Normally, I'm not a fan of gold hardware, so this is an exception to that rule...even the Bigsby is in gold. I like it, the whole thing looks like it means business! Practically no signs of use at all, it came with the proper Gretsch Canadian-made TKL hardshell case, and the guitar is a MIK model to boot! Plus the price was extremely nice. Just as expected, the guitar plays and sounds great. One thing I've noticed in the last year or so in shopping for these Gretsches online, is that reviews seem to indicate that the current MIC version of the G5420T is the equal of the older MIK version...and yet I keep seeing used MIC G5420T Gretsches for sale on Reverb that have stickers on the back of the headstocks with newer serial numbers on them, like they were 'seconds' or 'refurbished' or repaired or whatever. But, I've never seen or even heard of a MIK model that was, and I've actively looked around online. Hmmm, kinda makes me want to stick with the MIK version, y'know? seeker Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 Epiphone Casino 2018 and new PRS DGT SE for Guitars. DGT has been on my want list since they came out. The Casino has become my favorite around the house guitar. Probably the easiest player Ive ever touched and acoustically loud. Pickups are decent for clean, but a bit muddy under ovedrive. Am going to swap out and change to 50s wiring. Fryette PS100. Absolute game changer for me. 6 Quote
