hardheartedbill Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 ran across this recording of an early BBD gig, maybe the 3rd one, anyway this is our arrangement of the Jeff Beck tune " Savoy" , but we changed it so much I felt we needed to change up the name too ( I'm feeling rather Jim Page about it )to Savoy in the Boys this is a Mirage I as stock, the band is kind of running out of control in a cool way, I am overplaying like mad, I've sinced toned down the Satrionics LOL , anway, here's on w/ a wing and aprayer out toward cyberspace http://www.bigblockdodge.com/savoy.mp3
Lockbody Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 Dayum! Always nice to hear some play the f*ck out of their instrument.
tomteriffic Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 Damn! Outta control HHB and the return of Odell on the same thread! Something musta lined up just right!
killerteddybear Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 I don't see how any of that qualifies as 'overplaying' - it fit the tune and the groove...I thought it was great!
Guest teefus2 Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 very nice. i wish i could "overplay" like that..............c
BCR Greg Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 HHB, you suck. Lousy tone, crappy execution, shitty band. You even got the words wrong. You suck. The horn section ruins the tune, and the background vocalists are out of key.YOU SUCK.
ju12ver Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 Greg is a bitter man! I apologize for my absence... I am so into the radio show thing. Between that and finally reachin the mixing stage for Judge Unger CD, well that's no excuse. Anyway I am still playin "local" music on my show and HFC members are more than welcome to send me stuff to play...

Rockola Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 I bought the BBD - Manifold Destiny cd on the strength of Savoy & Eric's Johnson clips. Kick ass playing,Steve

MCChris Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 Now THAT'S my idea of a jam band!Great work. Overplaying? Nonsense.
jettster Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 I was betting that was a Floyd equiped guitar until I went back and re-read your post. Good tunage Bill.
edgar_allan_poe Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 What Bill isn't telling you is this... He is actually playing bass on that track. Thats *me* on the guitar. I also do all the vocals.
DaveH Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 That's smokin' Bill!! I really enjoyed listening to that.
Brooks Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 note to self; erase jazzy solos on my bands demo, replace w/ "satrionics", re-post on HFC.
atquinn Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 Sounds good to me, but then I came of age during the era of "satrionics" . -Austin
Rocktuna Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 If you got the chops use them ........and you got some chopsLoved it!
