The Chief performed his last boot scoot earlier this month. The character has been banned from appearing at University sponsored events. I understand changing the team names is next on the agenda.U of I should have gone with a rodent mascot like its neighbors. Of course once Minnesota nabbed the gopher the pickings were pretty slim. Moles? Voles? Shrews, perhaps?

Yes, the Pekin Chinks were a team. Then, there is Fisher, Illinois. Home of the bunnies. The Fisher Bunnies. Perhaps the U of I should adopt that mascot. The University of Illinois fighting bunnies.
