sonic1974 Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 The axf-fx is great. I no longer own any amps. Wow! High praise. Did you find it hard to get used to? What kind of set-up are you running? All the video clips I have posted are axe-fx. What you are hearing is the axe-fx into Tubeworks poweramp. I have a Mesa Thiele with a mic on it. I have used it for recording direct, which is very easy. I don't have those clips unfortunately. They are at my friend's studio. It was a little tricky at first to understand how all the controls interact. But it didn't take long to get the hang of. I have always been a rack gear guy so I wasn't afraid of menus and scrolling. Here's a link to a video and you can find the rest to the right: Cool! thanks for the link! I'll check it out.
KH Guitar Freak Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Got a bunch of pedals. No pedalboard but. Them Pedal Trains are ridiculously expensive...
Monacosis Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 here's my meager board. i have a couple "satellite" boards for the crazy fx, but this one's got the basics. btw, just got the Timmy. great pedal!!! mike
Jeff R Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 December 2008... July 2009... I stripped it to just the necessities for my True Too Life gig. Teese wah, DejaVibe2, cheap chorus pedal and a tuner. Helps that my amp has a great onboard delay. Weighs a helluva lot less now too.
Brooks Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 cool. how long did it take you to get a handle on editing/tweaking? can you set it up to adjust anything live?unless i'm missing something, the axe-fx is not super tweakable on the fly; takes ~20 seconds to open a patch up, flip to a parameter, change it, & save it.
bubs_42 Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 BUMP, work is slow and I took the day off. Reworking the board during a little me time. Time to wrangle this thing in and make is useful.
Armitage Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 My pedal board has got'n out of hand... Kidding... just some internet pic...
bubs_42 Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 I've got an idea that i'm researching to see if anyone makes. What I need is a Channel switcher for me Budda with loop in it. So I can run Pedals 1-4 through channel 1 and 5-8 through channel 2. Anything out there like that?I want to run a Fuzz,Vibe,Rotory,Delay through the Clean Channel and my OD's, 2nd Delay through the Overdrive Channel.
carfish7 Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Radial Loopbone would do that I think, but would require stepping on 2 buttons at once (conveniently they are right next t each other).Edited to add that I use mine to switch channels on my Boogie and go either with or without TS10 on the "clean" side by doing what I said above - step on 2 simultaneously - or not.
carfish7 Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 I think it might be MIDI for you then, but wiser minds will point you in the right direction if such a system exists. You want to do 3 things at once it seems. Stepping on 2 buttons right next to each other is fairly easily executed with some practice - right OR left-foot engaged.................
Brooks Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 i really like having all the amp/cab/mic/FX sounds in one unit, w/ no tubes to replace. i'm prolly done as far as amps go. haha, silly boy. here's my current pedal setup; earthtone boost (from bobbymack), in the loop of my mesa mini recto. a channel footswitch goes out by the micstand. thats it. http://s512.photobucket.com/user/brookskaplan/media/earthtone.jpg.html'>
bubs_42 Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Yep, should be easy enough and its not very likley that I'd go full from the Clapton Beano Tone to Jimi in the middle of a song. Last thing I want to do is add to much more to the board. I pretty much use the Overdrive on the Budda just under half and hit it with three different overdrives for color and a little gain.

Adding gain or sparkle?
Brooks Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 both. mostly its hitting the green (clean) channel harder so i can get more gain on my rhythm tone. the red channel is gain city, no help needed but the earthtone sounds good on it too. i leave it on all the time.
Eric Weston Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Just dug this out of storage to load the new wah and compressor...... Top row + wah goes to the front of the Knucklehead or R55. Bottom row is the loop. Crappy pic but you get the idea. I looked forever trying to find a board for a left-footed freak like me but eventually just built this myself. I should probably break out the George L's....hell, I've got a bunch of ends & cable. Just too lazy, I guess. I think 5 of these pedals came from HFC'ers !!!!! WooHOOOO!!!

mjtripper Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 This one has been working out well for me, I haven't even changed it around in a while. http://www.flickr.com/photos/10726704@N03/8026829110/'> http://www.flickr.com/photos/10726704@N03/8026829527/'> http://www.flickr.com/photos/10726704@N03/8026829467/'> http://www.flickr.com/photos/10726704@N03/8026828742/'>

bubs_42 Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Well get to it then. Don't forget the Budda footswitch works with mono cable and not a stereo.
The Shark Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Here's my latest board. Signal through the wireless, the tuner, the volume pedal, the wah, the two overdrives into the boost on to the Dumble clone amps. The loop is through the T.C. Corona into the El Cap and through the Wet reverb. It sounds great. Built by some guy named David Friedman.... http://s120.photobucket.com/user/rauschenberger21/media/NewPedalboard1.jpg.html'>
Disturber Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 Here's my board that I set up recently. It's a Warwick rock case that I bought used. It has a built in power supply for 9 and 12 volts. And a loop. The case it kinda big, but it's really well built. Thanks to Carfish7 I got neat Lavacables for it too. The Loopbone Big Shot is a great buffer unit with a booster function. You can set it so that your tone is almost identical to when you plug straight in to the amp. The AD80 is a great analog delay, very warm and tube/tape like, the DOD flanger has been with me since 1984. The Fulldrive and the Catalyst are both among the first 100 built, both sounds great. The Small Stone and the Coloursound are funky. There is also an Ibanez 10 series Loop Selector. Both loops can be boosted and it has a built in buffer that sounds better than the buffers in my Boss pedals, it's fairly transparent and does not colour the tone. http://s105.photobucket.com/user/disturber/media/Annat/PedalBoardDisturber_zps51b2b356.jpg.html'> I just need to attach some fresh velcro to some of the pedals and perhaps tidy up the cables.... I also have an old 1970's Electro Harmonix Memory Man Deluxe, a 1970's EH Zipper and a 1970's Phase 90 that I use. But they come out for recording mostly. I don't keep them on the board.
polara Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 Finished this last night.Lyt pedalboard in "flight"case (sturdy but they exaggerate about this being ATA-level) Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2 under the riser Planet Waves connector cables Signal: Guitar > Vox wah (off the board) > Korg Pitchblack > MXR Dual Loop Box > amp input Loop A > MXR Custom Badass 78 Distortion > Cusack Tap-a-Whirl > Ibanez DE-7 Loop B > ZVex Fuzz Factory > Korg KP3 Kaoss pad (controlled by XY MIDI pad built into guitar)The Dual Loop Box lets you pick one or both loops... or neither, so you send the unaffected signal to the amp. It's handy for keeping the KP3 out of the signal chain. The Kaoss Pad is a pretty wacky unit, so I also keep the Fuzz Factory switched on in this B "crazy shit" loop. The KP3 uses RCA ins and outs which are "consumer" line level of -10dB. I was worried I'd have trouble with unbalanced high-impedence instrument level going in and out of it, but you can adjust the input level of the KP3 so the level is fine. Hosa makes a stereo splitter: dual male RCA to male TRS (NOT stereo, so you don't lose half the signal) so it all worked out fine.I'm considering routing the cables under the board but they're pretty neatly bundled with Velcro ties so it's probably not worth it as it'd take a buttload of drilling that I might later regret..
