Feynman Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 For those that don't know, my dog's name is Leo, and he has given me a feeble excuse to show off my newest acquisitions yet again. --- Am I content this time? I think so. Really. Any bets?
specialk Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Great pic, Mitch!Although I never thought of you as a strat guy, I hope this is the one you've been looking for.

Brooks Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Leo looks like my bassist Grant's retired seeing eye dog Marvel (although Leo isn't as beat up looking).
atquinn Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Labs are the best! Nice gear too. What's the amp?-Austin
Brewmaster Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Holy Moly!!!!!!!! Chord Chemistry, and what looks like an original copy. I had that and another from the same publisher called "Quadraponic Fingering" by Mitch Holder. I had learned all that stuff back in the day. Then I quit playing for 15 years. DOH!!!!
veatch Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Holy Moly!!!!!!!! Chord Chemistry, and what looks like an original copy. I'm currently on my 3rd copy. One i wore out, one i loaned out, and the third, like Mitch's, sits on the stand for ready reference. I know nothing about theory, but that is a *great* book. Oh, and cool Strat and nice puppy.

Feynman Posted April 6, 2011 Author Posted April 6, 2011 Austin, it's a Laney L20T-410 - I have a New Amp Day thread somewhere around here. I really like this amp - I only bought it because it was too cheap to pass up, but the sound is quite lovely.Chord Chemistry is a great book. Ted is my Tele hero. I have no formal musical education, and all of this stuff is challenging to me - this book makes a lot of sense and is within reach for even a moron like myself. I give it a thumbs up. I am trying to have some self-discipline and muddle through it systematically - it's a lot of work but rewarding I think.Crowth145, you're on!SpecialK and BRW, I -fought- being a Strat guy. I clung to my irrational dislike of Strats for a long time, and now I'm on my fifth one. I have accepted defeat. It seems that I love Strats, and I'm ok with it now. And, this is my favorite Strat of the ones I've had, so I'm pretty happy.
ib2010 Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 That chord chemistry book will MELT YOUR MIND , you gotta put out , but WELL worth it !!!
