How long have you owned your #1

My 25thLTD has been there for me now for 4 1/2 years. It's crossed my mind to part with it once or twice, but it never really happened. Everytime I play it I'm reminded why I picked a Hamer to be my #1.

Before it was a Guild Brian May for 12 years.

Is there really longevity in the HFC or are we destined to be eternal horse traders?

Who are the faithful monogamists?

My #1 Hamer has been a '92 Special FM which I bought new in 1993. Still my ol' reliable go-to humbuckered axe.

My go-to single-coil guitar is a Frankenstrat that I built in the early 1980's. It has the special non-suck EMG's in what became known as the DG-20 configuration (10 or 15 years before they called it that) and a Kahler. It's been my go-to for over 20 years.

My first-shot studio guitar is a 1982 Martin E-28, one of 100 built, the first one offered for sale, as opposed to being a catalong/employee piece. All mahogany neck-thru with Duncans and active tone controls.

I just stuck the pic of Bubbles The Frankenstrat in to see if it worked.

Got my Daytona as an engagement present in '95. That will always be my number one, because I'd get in trouble if it weren't :P It helps that I really like it the best, although the upcoming sustain block special may give it a run for its money.

I've had my '79 Sunburst since 1982. That's the longest of any electric I have.

My first guitar (a small-bodied Suzuki acoustic) was bought for me by my Dad in 1972. It's in my son's room now.

I took delivery of my #1 Californian Doubleneck on 22 March, 2000. There are other guitars, but when I need to return to my original nature, it's the only one that will get me there.

Two years. My Hamer Studio Custom, with the crazyquilt blueburst, is a lifetime keeper.

My #1 is my old Gibson J-45 acoustic, checking in at 14 years. I have an old Harmony Meteor that I've had for 16 years, I love it but it's not #1.

5 years for the '95 Studio. I bought it used in 2000- and it ain't going anywhere, lol. The Duotone I bought from Robbie last year is a CLOSE second though. Damn, I used to be a Strat guy. :P

Last year, I bought a N.O.S. 25th Anniversary from the store my buddy manages. I had been going in to play it for close to 5 years. I even went in and POLISHED it one day. This guitar owned me.

I've always been more of a "Fender-type" player, but from the day it came home, the 25th has snuck into the rotation more & more.

When I found I could get a somewhat usable funk rhythm sound out of her, the G&Ls started to gather dust.

My number one has been the '01 Studio Custom (see below). Bought it new from BCR three HFC's ago. However, the Standard and the Duotone I have are getting equal play lately.

The Daytona is the one I grab when I have a minute or two, if that's what a #1 means in my case.

Never sold any of mine ever. I have four Hamers, an Ovation, a Fernandes travel guitar, and a `74 Gibson LP Deluxe (small world Al). I've had the LP since `87

I rarely sell anything, as those who have seen my guitar room will attest. Every now and then, in a moment of weakness, I may let the occasional Black Bart slip through my fingers. My first guitar was a parts tele, purchased in 1975. Upon graduation from college, I purchased my first Black Bart, a Gibson Explorer. I never bonded with it, and sold it in 1980 to finance this:

I can't say it's my number one player, but having owned it for 25 years, I've definitely got a soft spot for it. After finding this board 6 or 7 years ago, the madness took over, and I now own 20 Hamers. It's hard to pick a favorite, and most of them do make appearances on occasion.

I guess I've had my 92 p90 special for, oh, going on 3 years now. It was my only guitar for two of those years, and yes, its a little worse for the wear, but i still love it.

mirage1.jpgplayed this weekend w/ my old Mirage I, owned it 5 years this January. I've been through all kinds of cash and guitars but this one always satisfies, I think I've learned my lesson

Had 'Stu' here for 6 years as of yesterday...

This one's got that 'X' quality (whatever the hell that is). Hard to believe that someone let this particular one go but I'm sure glad they did. It simply outshines everything else I've tried in a similar configuration--even other Hamers.

I've only had my Monaco III for a little less than 1 year, but it is the only guitar I play. It's almost perfect for me, except for the pick-ups; gonna put some Lollar P90s in it next week.

My modded Studio Custom is the perfect live guitar for what I do... can go from jangle to kill with a single flip of a toggle.... I've had it for almost 2 years

I've owned my '81 Special since '81. Then I bought a '91 EBMM EVH in '95 and have been using it the most.

Tell me about the BM Guild. I've always wanted one but have never played one.

If we're talking basses, it has to be my first Hamer, my 96 Cruisebass bought new in 1997.

As for guitars, I couldn't even say... Probably my 76 LP Standard I bought in 1979.
