Cure/Fix for Hameritise?

Anyone know a way to fix Hameritise? I have a guitar with a pretty bad case around the neck joint moving outward about an inch all around. I thought I read somewhere that there was a fix where a needed is used to inject superglue. Anyone have experience fixing or curing Hameritise?

Thanks!

Depending on what guitar we're talking about, you could sell it to me.

Just throwing that out there.

I have a little I think on my most recent find, a 2001 Studio. It is not raised at all. Does it normally spread? Really it's so little for a 14 year old guitar I'm not worried.

As I recall, the waterthin superglue syringe trick is for lifting finish bubbles or chips, mostly along the fingerboard edge. It really is not for the discoloration around the glue joint.

There's no "e" on the end of "Hameritis". ;)

Ask JeffR how that went when he tried to fix Hameritis on the side of his fingerboard.

Not something you want to try out for the first time on a good guitar.

I think "Hameritise" is the chronic version of Hameritis. :D

I think the verb form is Hameritize, as in, "To Hameritize the guitars being built, the builders first had pizza for lunch."

I don't think it spreads much if any, once it's occurred, and probably not likely after 14 years...but I wouldn't subject the guitar to temperature extremes to find out if it will, or try to fix it without having actually fixed one for this before.

If it's along the fingerboard edge, super thin super glue can be used.

The problem here is that it's such a small gap you would be putting the glue into. getting it to spread would be problematic. Best to just live with it.

Yeah, buy another Hamer!

If your not "cured" after 50 purchases or so, you just might have to live with it.

Alternate cure is to order a Shishkov!
