So how much do you think I'm working today? This is a big non-work week for us: Wednesday was our FIRST official wedding anniversary. Yesterday was my wife's son's birthday. Today is my wife's birthday. The Seahawks (and most NFL teams) play tomorrow. And then we're dong something-or-other Sunday, too.

I'm an independent RE appraiser, and it's typically pretty slow this time of year around the big holidays. I plan on doing a lot of year end collections next week, -with lots of hfc breaks. I work out of my basement, and I can hear my toddler upstairs, so there's lots of break 'opportunities' for me!

MAYBE a quarter of the workforce there, no emails, no phone calls, left early, picked up some Maker's Mark, Southern Comfort and Vodka, took the DeVille through a car wash (after a shitload of 15 degree days, 45 DEGREES TODAY - FUCK YEAH!!!!) and now I'm having a Maker's and 7 and talking to you jag-offs again. Life is great.

I hit the Mall (much against my will!), but am now two Guinness Pub Drafts into a nice late afternoon/early evening away from what has been a very stressful job lately.Ahhhh...BRILLIANT!!
black magic Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 Man, I have been putting 10-12 hour days in for the past 2-3 weeks and working 10 hours tommorow for a total of about 20 hours overtime this week :-) I have to get up at 3am to work at 4am to leave for Erie,PA. for deliveries. do me a favor, don`t get a CDL Liscence, it sucks :-( Jack.

But our maintenance shutdown officially began today and we have LOTS of work to get done before production resumes on January 3rd.So I worked all day along with all of my salaried staff and the majority of my tradesmen. I spent most of the day working with an Electrician on a test station that's been having some calibration problems lately. It's not nearly as hectic as keeping stuff running during production, so it's kind nice to have a break to really dig into stuff under a little less pressure.I get the weekend off, and then work all of next week, and maybe next weekend. Almost everyone else gets to enjoy the extended holiday - 7 paid days off from 12/23 to 1/2. The only consolation for those of us working is the doubletime OT pay...
