ironwood8959 Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 I found this the other day and thought I would share some pictures. A mint condition 1999 Hamer Artist 25th Anniversary Sterling Silver Edition. Number 11 of 25 made. Beautifully engraved sterling silver truss rod cover and electronics cavity cover. Truss rod cover is engraved with a floral-motif decoration with "25" and the electronics cavity cover is engraved with "Anniversary Edition 25, 1974-1999 11/25". Sterling silver purfling on the inner binding around the bout and up both sides of the fretboard as well as on the headstock. Original silver Hamer 25th Anniversary Edition case with plaque. The combination lock on the case has never been set. Unplayed as new condition. It also came with the framed Certificate of Authenticity. I like it!
Hbom Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 Beautiful guitar! Congratulations. And welcome to the group. Fair warning, it's hard to stop at one.
ironwood8959 Posted April 25, 2023 Author Posted April 25, 2023 Thanks! I already have my eye on a 2002 Newporter. I currently have about 70 instruments. But this one is my new favorite!

Thinkin' of adding one more to the Chicago group to even up the herd. Maybe a Daytona, we'll see. Happy hunting on that Newport.
ironwood8959 Posted April 25, 2023 Author Posted April 25, 2023 Yeah, more guitars than I need... The studio floor is in danger of collapse. Martins, Guilds, Fenders, LoPrinzis, Vegas, Gibsons, Silvertones. It's an obsession. Sad I know.
hamerhead Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 I had #8 for a while. Stunning guitar. Congrats on a great find!
BruceM Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 They're fantastic guitars, and I've been able to play two of them. I owned #6 for many years, but it's moved on. And here's a pic of the day Dan and I met at the 4-3-2-1 Club in June 2003, sweating on each other's guitars. I got to play Dan's numerous times, including at the 2003 HFC Open House jam session. Too much fun!

ironwood8959 Posted April 26, 2023 Author Posted April 26, 2023 Just picked this up today... A 2002 Hamer Newport Pro. The original owner named this guitar "Rocket"! Mint condition. Sweet!
ironwood8959 Posted April 27, 2023 Author Posted April 27, 2023 Has anyone ever seen a Newport with black binding?
Steve Haynie Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 This is the first Newport I have seen with black binding.
Travis Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 I was going to say, “yes” but now that I think about it; it was tortoise binding…
Feynman Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 I had a natural Pro with black binding, and a Korina with what seemed darker tort than most - looked brown/black from a distance. It's a great look, and that's a beautiful guitar. Just correct that trussrod cover and it will be perfect.
ironwood8959 Posted April 27, 2023 Author Posted April 27, 2023 I have the original truss rod cover...
crunchee Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 Harmony had a budget Rocket model hollowbody back in the '60's, you wouldn't want someone to confuse it with this guitar.
