FS: Sonic Guitars '58 Korina SOLD

Recent Sonic Guitars (handmade by Paolo in Italy)  1 piece nicely grained Korina body,  brazilian

board , '59 style (R9-ish) style neck profile, medium frets.    Guitar is in excellent condition with

clean frets.     I added a new harness (CTS, Orange drop, switchcraft)  some Brandonwound '59

pickups  (vintage hot).    Finish checking and wear throughout.   The Fredo waterslide  is above finish

and  can be easily removed but given it was built in Italy, it’s quite fitting    It plays and sounds

really nice and resonates beautifully.   The body has very vivid grain that is flamey at certain angles.   

It's approx 9 lbs 4 oz.   Comes with a brand new Gibson case.     

 

 FYI... original pickups are not available,  I have a nice set of Ox4 Hot Duanes in double black (also Vintage

Hot wind).   If the buyer prefers, I can swap them out and keep the Brandon wounds.  I dig em both so

either way is fine with me.

Then I would replace the Fender-like "Fredo" decal with a Gibson-looking "Guido" decal.  Needs that Gibson "G".

This is a great deal on a great guitar.  Paolo's guitars are very good.  And much more money now that people are finding him.

Paolo Sulcuni.  He's great.  I have three of his guitars.

Look, fellas.  I'm seriously considering buying this guitar.  A little over three grand for a one piece figured Limba body and Brazilian rosewood?  Unheard of.   Trust me.  I've paid much more for far less guitar.

I missed the Gustavsson's for 5K.  This is that kind of situation.  Paolo's raised his prices and has all the work he can take on.

Totally agree. The guitar looks fantastic. And one-piece limba body? Yum! I cannot stop playing my Korina Standard. Guys, please grab this thing before it’s too late!

I’m breathing and still resisting. Would prefer a Y2K’s flametop Standard with a thick neck. My red one is addictive. A C-neck with .850”+ and .930”+ at the 1st and 12th frets, respectively, is just great for me.

All three of my guitars have Paolo's winds in them.  I really like them.  I had him wind them at 7.5K and 8.0K respectively.
