serial Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Joe and I are pretty close to wrapping up the text for the Hamer book, but are looking for high quality photographs of different Hamer models. I received a bunch of emails on this before, but frankly, had to focus on the text first. What we need:-clear high-res photos straight on full shots of guitars.-NO FLASH! We cannot use pictures with any flash glare.-original condition instruments only unless it's a rock star guitar-clean instruments-shots must be IN FOCUS-plain unicolor background. Avoid bed shots, blankets, couch shots etc.Outdoor shots work best unless you have a photo rig.Stuff like this works, although the stand isn't ideal-I'll have to crop it:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v153/serial/fbombincolor_0063.jpg
kizanski Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Avoid bed shots, blankets, couch shots etc. What about Jacuzzi tub covers?
Bennyboy-UK Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 I would LOVE to get a pic or two included! How long have we all got to submit something? Cheers,Ben
zorrow Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 F@#$%! Just remembered I owe you a good picture of my camo Vector. Will take it outdoor as soon as we have a sunny day here.
David B Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 I tried taking pics of my FB & Greenburst Standard, but my pics just suck.
serial Posted May 15, 2012 Author Posted May 15, 2012 I'll need things by June 1.When I refer to "outdoor shots", that would mean a shot with a neutral background sheet (like in my pic) using natural lighting. Slightly overcast is ideal-bright sun causes reflections of what is in front of the guitar like a mirror. Outdoor shots should not have trees, grass, woodpiles, leaves, etc. those photos cannot be cropped. Finally, the best shots are straight on with the guitar vertical. It is very difficult to get a good "overhead shot" of a guitar or useful shot when a guitar is laying down flat and harder or impossible yo crop the image go delete background.Looking for examples of all sorts of things. Blitz/Blitz Bass, 3+3 Phantom, A7, GT, 12, Chaps, Calis, Vintage S, Vectors, Scarabs, Scepters, Scepter V, Sunbursts, Specials, TLEs, SS 1/2s, original Cruisebasses, FBs, all basses (except maybe Impact), custom stuff, Juniors, Artists, Vanguards, Newports, Talledegas, MonEls, doublenecks, graphics-just about anything!(don't need Proto, Proto 12, Art Ult, Chap Custom 1st version, Monaco III, Miller or MGD guitars,
moozak Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 do you need a list of features along with the pic(s) with custom guitars?
Uncle Thor's Hamer Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Is there an aspect ratio you prefer? How about landscape vs portrait orientation? What do you mean by original condition? No mods at all?
HSB0531 Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Joe and I are pretty close to wrapping up the text for the Hamer book, but are looking for high quality photographs of different Hamer models. serial Posted May 16, 2012 Author Posted May 16, 2012 Original condition w/o mods is preferable as this is to be a reference source as well. Changed parts that aren't visible are no biggie.A good pic of the headstock on your bass would be great (I uploaded one tonight that I took years ago, but it's without tuners). If there isnt an intact four digit Standard Bass, I could use it!
elduave Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Outdoor shots should not have grass, etc. Now you tell me.
cmatthes Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 El: I'll let you know when I'm doing a local photoshoot! The Duavepro needs to be in there.
elduave Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 El: I'll let you know when I'm doing a local photoshoot! The Duavepro needs to be in there. Cool, but I was thinking of all the custom orders, shot flat, on grass. Mostly flat!
django49 Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 If the weather cooperates, I will try to get some good pix tomorrow.
