Kicking her ass or hiring someone to beat her up isn't going to put the guitar back together! Yeah, maybe it will bring the dude some satisfaction but chances are he'll be enjoying the moment in jail.

Lesson here is: if your girl is unbalanced (and if you're not sure whether she's unbalanced or not, take note of what your inner voice tells you when you witnessed a past experience with her that didn't seem to mesh with your way of thinking or ideals), HIDE YOUR GEAR! If you live with her and you can't hide it, put your gear away, ie; guitar back in the case, when you're done with it. Either that or get a new girl.

Looks like the dude needs a new guitar....and a new girl! Hopefully, lesson learned!

I don't agree. I'd rather you take it out on the guy that cheated than on a defenseless guitar. What did the guitar do to you? My ex wife kicked a hole in the back of one of my acoustic guitars because she was mad at me. I didn't cheat. She did....and got busted. So break my guitar? I'd rather you smack up my car. At least it's insured! The guitar is a very personal thing. That hurt me more than finding out she was cheating!

You know what I did in retaliation? Did I break anything of hers? No. I just walked away. No goodbye, no announcement. Got up the next day like I was going to work and left. Yeah, I probably would've felt better if I broke something of hers. But I guarantee you, the way I did it, hurt her more.

Turns out that's EXACTLY what happened. She busted up a bunch of other stuff too so the guy photographed everything.

FWIW, I posted this same thread on two other guitar forums too and only HERE did people take it upon themselves to declare it "FAKE." Some of you have way too much time on your hands.
