  1. I'm no snob.I like any good guitar no matter where its made. From the sound of it you found one you really like. Why not go with what your woman's intuition tells you and buy it or one like it. Go get it and enjoy it. What the components are or where it is made shouldn't change how much you liked it. This thread can't and shouldn't do anything to change how you feel. Subject covered in my opinion and it took way to long to get here.

  3. Jem...once they discover the coke and alcohol, it's all over. You never hear from them past age 10.

  4. Bored? The look she gives the camera at 2:17 is priceless - she's concentrating! It's very encouraging to see someone younger than 35 playing a real guitar. Seems pretty rare these days. I love seeing stuff like this. If everyone played as poorly as me the world would be a desperately uninteresting place.

  7. Give her a big line of coke and half a bottle of vodka and then see how she copes - it is, after all, supposed to be rock 'n roll. Not to belittle, I mean, I can hardly hold down a barre chord, but how many of these little buggers have we posted here since I joined in 2000 and how many have we ever heard of or seen again ? Oh, and that's an honest question by the way, anyone ?

  12. That's sort of what I felt Chris, it was for me that's for sure, I spent far too much time 'being' rock 'n roll than actually practicing to play it LoL

  14. The ironic part is I've always blamed my limited lead playing ability on my small hands. After watching this video, that theory has officially been blown out of the water

  15. I read somewhere: "No matter how good you are at something, there's always an Asian kid who's better than you".

  22. Wouldn't the name have to be changed? If so, what about "Hammer"? That wouldn't confuse anybody. Seeing the build photos makes me appreciate mine even more. This is why practically any USA made Hamer will be full of awesome, whereas you have to win the quality lottery on some other well known brands.

  26. The only downsides of the TLE are that there aren't that many of them and when you find them, they won't be $300. As for the Samshin pickups, for the time and energy you're spending sifting for the one passable specimen in a pile of crap, you could have earned enough money to get some domestic handwounds that would be worth the time, discussion, and most importantly, the hands-on use for making music. Ask anyone on this board about me. I look into things until I've done them to death, and describe nuances far past where others' eyes glaze over. I've owned MIK Washburns, Epiphones, Gretsch, Fender, Indonesian Squier, MIJ Ibanez, and I don't know what all. But even I have a threshold where I conclude that something's not worth further study. One such is Asian pickups. Even the MIK Washburns I bought my teenage daughter lost their MIK pickups to USA replacements. I have never found an MIK pickup worth leaving in the instrument, so I don't waste my time playing, evaluating, or even thinking about them anymore. Others are less patient and busier musicians than I am, which would account for the zero response (until me) about Samshin pickups.
