  1. Happy Birthday, Dave!
  2. The dark edge really pops the flame. Great job.
  3. One of my best friends was a founding member of the Buckinghams (you know - 'Kind of a Drag'). He got drafted just as they hit, and they took off without him. He had some cool momentos from back then (pictures and posters and such), but basically nothing else. When they did a reunion tour a few years back, he went to see them and they had him up for a couple tunes. He tried to be cool and everything, you know - not to let on - but I knew he loved it. After 30 years of playing in bars, he'd finally got to go back - albiet briefly - and be a part of what he'd missed.
  4. That's why I like my crappy band - no schedule!!
  5. Gotta be happy with that! Hell, I'd be happy if somebody just REVIEWED my band.
  6. That doesn't go thru the bandsaw if it's returned, does it? Please tell me that's just for blems.
  7. You're in our thoughts here, too.
  8. Those Tumbling Boomers give dots a run for the money. Yeow.
  9. Having never 'heard' a crown, a victory, or even a boomer, gimme dots.........
  10. Just watched all 5. It's pretty funny. I'm no longer afraid to gig mine. Or smack somebody upside the head with it. Or toss it out a moving car. Well, maybe not the moving car....
  11. Welcome. Hide your wallet. I came here with one, too....... A couple of those are gone, but a couple others took their place. It's baaaad.
  12. I missed it too, dammit! Happy Birthday, Jeff!!
  13. Hey Mirrorimij - as a programmer/machinist I can understand the massive undertaking of building a bigger CNC machine. The ones we use are engineering works of art. But to route a trem cavity should be pretty routine. The machine already exists, and so does the programming (although some editing is probably neccessary). But it's the set-up times on short runs that are a killer. And when you're swamped with orders, tearing down to run something else is pretty disruptive. THEN you get to RE-set-up on the normal stuff. A genuine time-consuming PITA. So, while the routing may be expensive, it's due more to the tear down/set-up/tear down than machining/programming. I could be wrong.
  14. Nice job, Greg. The quilt is sweet. Hmmmmmm...............
  15. Dammit, Poe! I really LIKE my current rig. ......but THAT is so cool. Now I have AAS.
  16. Or even realize. Have a good one Ted!!
  17. Happy Birthday, Mike!
  18. Hi Bruce. I've owned a number of guitars, probably a half-dozen or more of the 'Slammer Series'. Great guitars, no doubt about it. You're questions have gotten answers from some of the MOST KNOWLEDGEBLE Hamer experts in the world. Maybe your guitar has some aftermarket USA parts or whatever, but don't think for a minute that these guys would steer you wrong. They are fully aware of what you have and it's current value. Hey Tom, quit copying me!
  19. I am very afraid. I, too, have a '79 LP and an '81 Special. The LP WAS my #1, now the Special is. The Prince of Darkness and I have even MORE in common.....could it be...... Anyway, Citrus is right - tone is in the hands. If I played EVH's guitar through EVH's rig, I'd sound like a feeb. If I played Eric Johnson's guitar through Eric Johnson's rig, I'd still sound like a feeb. I will sound like a feeb no matter what I use. But I'm OK with that. It sounds like me.
