  1. Hi 3of5,

What's your price for a cash sale? I could use a road trip.
Sunday preferred but Monday could work too.

    Thanks,

    Larry Posavad

  2. Hi LucSulla,
I'll take the Nova Delay - I keep looking at these and wanting one, so...
Paypal OK or do you want some other form of payment?

    Regards,

    Larry Posavad (killerteddybear)

  4. Hey, murkat,

Can you define " alithogram " for me? I've never seen that term.
I thought you might mean 'algorithm', but software engineering being the way it is, it could be a term I'd never encountered.
    Thanks!

that is what meant, and stand corrected :)

  5. Can't say I don't like flame tops, but I do think some instruments come out over-blingy. Rock can't be too pretty, you know. There's a certain dignity to a well-grained body or neck without tossing flame, quilt and birdseye into the mix.
  6. If you scroll through to the bottom of the ad, you will see this photo is still in the ad (as of this posting's date & time).
  7. I haven't had a Hamer for years. It's not a requirement. What you do need is the Hamer attitude. Without that you'll be derided, abused and ultimately leave or get kicked out. This board is seriously cool, a perfect mix of respect, bad attitudes, deep knowledge and deeper hilarity. Kinda like my hometown.
  8. I hope they glow in the dark.
  9. Fur beetle sounds like a personal hygiene issue. Is that why they all shave now?
  10. Kinal MK21 5 string bass. Takes my punishment.
  11. ... And a set-neck Chaparral...
  12. Fuck rock critics. Any music critic actually. Any critic actually. Parasites.
  13. hey its easy to get the traynors...its sending them back thats the problem.. I live 100 miles from Canada..its takes longer to send an amp to Winnipeg than it does to Russia Uh, that's a problem with Winnipeg... the rest of Canada has the same problem with them.
  14. All you guys and gals that are feeling inferior, send all your best guitars to me. Hell, I'll even split the shipping!
  15. So, based on your 'rules', everyone is in... Also, outright sales are not part of the challenge. What about mods to existing instruments? Free pass? And amps / recording gear / pedals not included?
  16. I stuck a Warmoth fretless neck onto a Hwy 1 Jazz body, and a Warmoth baritone neck onto a MIM Nashville Tele body. That's it.
  17. I'd love to get another upright bass. I regret selling my doghouse years ago...
  18. There is a MIK Hamer Slammer Series Tele in Hollywood for a mere $199: http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/msg/4056190459.html I hate like hell posting this as I may grab it myself this weekend, so beat me to it and help my GAS attack.
  19. I lived in Canada until I was 40, so all my faves are likely unknown to most of you. Max Webster -a group, not a solo act Kim Mitchell - solo act; the singer/guitarist from Max Webster Blackie and The Rodeo Kings - roots rock at its finest Saga - prog rock band that's still going (since 1978!). Check out Ian Chricton's guitar work. Doug and The Slugs - Vancouver's contribution to party dance rock. And from Los Angeles, Tonio K. - think of a darker version of Weird Al Yankovic. I have no idea why this guy didn't make a bigger splash.
  20. One hit wonders? Maybe in the US... Chilliwack did quite well in Canada in their time.
  21. In my mid teens (the 70s for you youngsters) I picked up bass because Rocktuna started learning guitar. I shamelessly admit to sibling rivalry. It's always been a combination of play-along and self motivated theory studies. I've taught myself enough basic theory (mostly the intervals in major and minor scales) to be able to tackle most music. One thing that really helped was playing in bar jam sessions - do it if you have the chance! Learning to listen and think on your feet goes a long way!
  22. I've had a few Carvin basses, and I've always unloaded them. Dave L nailed it when he said 'sterile' - somehow the Carvins just don't define themselves. I did luck out with a DC127 once, great player and good tone (in a nasty way). But it didn't last either. Carvin's World Domination Headquarters are just up the road from where I live. I've tried many of their instruments at one time or another and they are well built, and comfortable to play, but nothing jumps out. If you're looking for a 335-style guitar, take a look at an Eastman. I have one of their jazz archtops and it's wonderful! These are serious instruments. http://www.eastmanguitars.com/thinline-electrics/
