This is a real head-scratcher.

If only there was a Hamer model shaped like the Monaco III but with 2 humbuckers...

Easy answer, stoopid:

These Arcanes are so cool, but pretty expensive.

Unfortunately, there was only enough dough for 2 of them.

So, one came to another...  😎

All he had to do is NOT use the middle pickup.

And just look at the unusual grain pattern of the Mahogany back!

Don’t be a home for wayward hamers that some doucher messed up.    That is my holiday message to you.   ;)

OMG!!!  SOMEONE MODDED THEIR GUITAR!! 🤯

I agree with Bubs (even if he meant it more tongue in cheek).  Good on the owner for taking what he had and making it what he wanted.

Were any of us in the audience we'd only think "cool, a natural Monaco"

If you love it buy it.     It’s a horrible deal and should be pointed out as such.

I'm thinking of routing my Newport P90 for humbuckers and putting in a pair of Phat Cats.

You've been around here how long?

You are supposed to have several Hamers with all pickup configurations.

...I should have added: and paint it zebra stripe...

Yes!....And having a luthier match the wood grain and fill in the pickup route must have cost a good bit of money.

So he still calls it a MIII? Maybe someone should point something out…

To be completely accurate, it is now:   "The Monaco Formally Known As III"

Yes indeed.  The uninformed might be confused seeing an original untouched Monaco III in a for sale ad right next to the "Notaco" III

I guess they really wanted that distressed look on the pickups. If it had been my guitar, I would have just put some TV jones in it. Sure I wouldn't have had the option of having pickups that look like they were left out in the rain, but at least they wouldn't clash so hard with the existing gold hardware.

Valid if that was what was being posted focused on value, but it wasn't so it isn't.

Yes, you make a great point, and a common sense one too.

No, I’ll allow it.
