do you loose during a year? Me: a lot…

ETA: I know it is the wrong brand. But then it is checkerboard…

I generally keep a Jazz III (red only, please) in my pocket and am oddly able to keep up with it until the edges are worn sufficiently to throw it away.

I can't recall the last time I lost a pick.

As a Blue Chip user, I manage to no longer lose my picks.  It's like sunglasses, the cheapies disappear in weeks/months, the pricey ones stay with me until they are too scratched to use anymore.

I have long since settled on V-Picks, or sometimes Gravity. They are harder to drop or lose. Price may have something to do with being careful.🤔 That little 5th pocket on blue jeans seems to be a pretty secure place to keep one at hand.

Seems logic - but what do you use to throw at your fans? Cheap copies? 😁

Fans? 😉

She is definitely not a fan!

I play in church. Throwing a pick would be considered... well... bad form... 🙃

I had and lost two Blue Chip picks. One was lifted from and Open Mic music stand. Nothing so expensive for me any more.

My pocketknives do not get lost when they are cheap.  Nicer ones seem to be the ones that get lost.

A few years ago there were bags of picks on eBay sold by someone closing down a music store.  They have the store name on them.  Big deal.  So, there are a few picks in the guitar cases and bags nearly full.  There ought to be plenty of picks in each guitar case, but my trait of being cheap keeps that from happening.  With a gross of cheap picks there ought to be no worries about them getting lost or wearing out.

Stopped using picks in the early ‘80s. Problem solved…

…except not quite: cracked a fingernail on my picking hand midway through a 27 hour 4-flight trip to a gig in Singapore. (Still don’t believe that none of the flight attendants had an emory board or nail file.)

I rarely ever lose picks anymore. At 2.75mm, these V-Picks small pointed's are more a challenge to keep a sharp point on 'em than to lose 'em.

I used to throw metal picks when I played at church.  Strangely, it coincided with an unexplained burst of stigmata cases.

There are so many picks scattered around my house they're like bread crumbs leading from room to room. So I never really lose them - one's always handy. B)

ETA: I just looked up Blue Chip picks. $35. For one. ONE?? Ho. Lee. Fu. Ck. I KNOW I'm not good enough for those. Pass the Tortex, please!

To be fair, the Blue Chips really accel at acoustic, brings a very nice tone out of them.  That's what I originally got them for, but as I got used to them and tried them on electric, I was hooked.  I really like the way they glide over the strings with little to no pick sound, as well as how well they stay in hand when playing. I don't claim to understand how such a smooth surface sticks to one's fingers, but I'm grateful they do.

The repercussions of switching from Small Pointed Lites to Small Pointed. :P  At 1.5 mm, the small pointed lites were a PITA to maintain a decent grip on.

No doubt, Blue Chip picks are very good. I had my initials put on the second one, didn't help me keep up with it. Not the pick's fault 😂

Oh, I like 'em when they're worn down.  Been using Jazz III's in red since I first met Eric Johnson in Austin in 1990.  I have a few that are old as dirt.

Sworn off V-picks. Vinnie’s a great guy and very helpful, but his products wear quickly and lose their shape (l reckon my point is moot when using the tri-side picks, but I’m not a fan of those). At $4/pop, they should be more durable.

Sticking with Dunlop 1.0mm, jumbo FLEX Jazzllls. Cheap and long-wearing.

Been using Dunlop GatorGrips (blue or purple) for 30+ years. I spent a lot of time in the early 90s (when I started playing) trying as many different string and pick combos as possible, searching for my magical recipe. Top-wrapped DR Pure Blues 11s (LP Special was my only electric for over a decade) and those picks are where I landed. Same picks, DR Phosphor Bronze 12 or 13s on acoustic. There are other strings that I prefer other picks on, but with the heavy-ish DRs, nothing sounded as good as the Gatorgrips, and it was easy to switch between tip and long side picking without dropping for extra dynamics and tones. I've lost every one I've gone through. Never so worn they lost the taper or shape. Some have lasted a few years, none have broken. Always one in my pocket.

Yet another anomaly of my agreeing with you. ;) The tips and edges do tend to deteriorate kinda fast. Maybe why I a buy a shit ton of them at a time. I also wait for sale events.

I DO like the green Euros with the holes. They feel/sound great. I’ll be sorry to wear out my last stash of ‘em.

Seeing as this is in FS/WTB/PSA section...

I have a bag of new 34 Jazz III's I won't be using.  $24 shipped CONUS  :D
