boundandcrowned Posted Sunday at 11:00 PM Posted Sunday at 11:00 PM Sometimes the stars align, especially when you least expect it, and something special happens. I was browsing the classifieds of "Kleinanzeigen" (German "Craigslist") out of boredom in the middle of the night. I was already half asleep when suddenly ... I immediately contacted the seller by email. He was on vacation at the time, but after a brief phone call the next morning, he considered my interest in buying to be genuine and promptly removed the ad. After a short negotiation about shipping the guitars (which the seller initially didn't want to do), I received the two Vectors, undamaged, in one (!!!) cardboard box. And here they are: 20 1 Quote

dgstandard Posted Monday at 03:44 AM Posted Monday at 03:44 AM Looks like they are straight out of a time capsule - congrats!! 1 Quote
donner Posted Monday at 07:50 AM Posted Monday at 07:50 AM I saw that ad, too, and was thinking of my (long ago sold) 83 Vector in similar condition. But I don't dig the Body form, mainly playing seated. Congratulations and: May they be PLAYED LOUD! 1 Quote
donner Posted Monday at 01:23 PM Posted Monday at 01:23 PM (edited) And: There is still another one from 1981 for below 2k Euros. Looks like it needed some TLC, though... https://www.kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/hamer-vector-flying-v-gitarre-1981/3493964339-74-9179 Edited Monday at 01:24 PM by donner 1 Quote
scottcald Posted Monday at 02:27 PM Posted Monday at 02:27 PM Good Lord, you're like the guitar ad Indiana Jones finding and getting both at once is insane. Was the bound one modified for the extra knob or ordered that way? Both look fabulous. Congratulations! 1 Quote

Actually there are a few small dings and scratches on the back. Out of the time capsule are both warranty cards, a still sealed (!) envelope with the key for the case and a historic set of Fender DYNAMaX strings. And both guitars have received my usual treatment before being photographed. 3 Quote
