For those of you who prefer one over the other, is it merely a cosmetic issue (shape)? Or are there other factors that influence you?

Both are cool, Standards are a little more user friendly. Sitting with a Standard is actually quite comfortable, Vectors are a little clumsy sitting but look SO DAMN ROCK AND ROLL while standing.

Neither is for the faint of heart.

Me and the "Standard" shape go all the way back to the second guitar I ever had (and the first one I bought with my own money), so I gotta go with that one.

Amazing the amount of blues players who play a "V".

What kind of tonal differences are there between a korina Standard and a korina Vector? I'm assuming everything else is pretty much the same (pickups, etc.)

My experince is that Vectors CAN(but not always) be brighter, whereas Standards usually have a big "krunk".

I have to Agree with Greg here. Both are sooooo Cool. I had an early 80's vector that was a great playing guitar. I ended up selling it at the time since I wasn't playing it but If I had the way back machine It would still be here.

As for Standards I have three Standards that are Heirloom guitars. Destined to stay in the family and get passed downed to my children's children.

Damn! You're killing me, Smalls.

Those are two amazing looknig guitars you have there. I like the fact that they're rear routed. I was never a fan of the pickguards.

I give Standards the slight edge because they are so comfortable to play while seated.

V's have the cooler look though.

The only real solution is to have both (preferably in Korina)........

Having owned great examples of both, I have to vote the 2HB Centaura.

Vector, 'cause Albert King didn't play a Standard.

He didn't play a Vector either!

Standars are more versatile. They have lots of wood, (lots of mass),

which make them sound big and resonant.

Vee's are cool. But I consider them only to be

a "live instrument". Not so usefull in the studio etc.

But for some, (including myself), appearence is

everything, so a Vector is never out of place, (lol).

I don't own one though, only Standards and I love 'em.

Although I've never held a Standard nor a Vector in my hands, I voted for the Standard becausethe V seems to be uncomfortable, especially when playing the guitar in the sitting position. Furthermore I know some guitarists with a great sound from their Explorer.

I love V guitars.Vector for me please.I like the sleek feel of the body. The first V I played.I was like"damn.this is it."

I like em both! But I'm biased towards the Standard as I can't play the V sitting down.

Both shapes are great, but I like the V look a little more, maybe. You can play V's sitting down in the "classical" position by putting your leg in the "V" part, but it does get tiring after awhile. I voted Vector because of the one other factor- unparalleled upper fret access!

I'd say an IceMan!!! oops, wrong forum!!!

Well, I'm leaning towards the Vector and here's why:

I play in the classical position when seated.

My brother had a custom made Explorer shaped guitar a while back and I hated playing it.

I tend to relate shred a little more to a V.

On the other hand, Standards do look frickin' cool as hell. Hmm, maybe one of each and I'll just start with the V.
