That was THE liquidation sale of the ages! TEN guitars sold!

That Special is a dream guitar. It plays and sounds great!

...and it's WHITE!

it means this SMOKIN' HOT sustain block special is offered to other Hamer Lunatik Club members at the same price as it was acquired for nearly 18 months ago :-)

Ummm, what does 'paying it forward' mean?

It means this is a group of people who take care of each other. I'm still just trying to pay for the information I've received. I hope to eventually buy some of these guitars and pay em forward again. but first play the $hit out of them.

Ah! Got it - thanks.

I really wanted a Studio Custom when I found this MonEl, so perhaps someday I'll have a chance to do the same.

Dam it! I checked this forum on Thursday looking for a guitar such as this...... Ended up snagging a new Gibby SG Standard for almost double the price.

Best year for the Specials. They flat out rock. Killer price too.

I'll have to agree with that assessment. I've had three 80 Specials and an '82 in addition to my '81. The only one I've held on to (and will likely never dump) is my '81 graphic Special, although I need to put .10s on it. Grabbed it to play out last night and I'm not used to .09s anymore! They're SOOO skinnny.

Well, didn't you say you tune down to D? Or was that Not Steve?

Hmmmm, I like it...and my wallet is saying "maybe" , can you pm some details on neck shape, pickups, fret wear and such?

Posted
available still?? neck shape???

the neck is on the fuller side of medium. not thin, not a baseball bat. the frets are in good shape and have plenty of life remaining. i believe the pups are original - i wouldn't expect any less from a guitar coming from the House of Kiz (i'll pop them out later today and take pix of the pups and control cavity for those who need more info).

sincere thanks various pm/em trade-swap offers, but a straight sale is needed.

I got the guitar from Scooter, who got it from Poe, who got it from ebaY (if memory serves).

It's all original as far back as that, to the best of my knowledge.
