cmatthes Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Definitely some cool stuff there...Esquire Customs and metalflake SGs?Nifty.
LordOfTheThighs Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Nice pics. I'm not a Strat type of guy, but some of those Charvels look great. The inlaywork on some of those Gibson acoustics is jaw-dropping. At the risk of being ostracized, I gotta say Hamer's display has left me wondering, who exactly are they targeting? Of the pics that I've seen, nothing really gets my attention. I know the qualityis there, but the aesthetics leave me wanting.

I wish they could've gone the Huber route and staged the guitars in a way that was a little more flattering. Even black velvet draped over the display wall would've helped make the finish of those guitars pop a little more.
Rockola Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 yes, i'll take the 117 Charvel. Derringer looks fitter than he used to. Good God, man...Grover looks like my old neighbor.S.
MCChris Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 This double cut is the only thing even remotely interesting to me from any of the displays by any manufacturer: Of course, those terrible inlays ruin it. And some of you guys actually have issues with the Victories LOL!
LordOfTheThighs Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 I play my guitars slung a bit on the low side. It seems that the pick-up sticking out of the back of the guitar may be tough on my balls. Also, are those square dots on that double cut-away? *editted to add some more sarcastic remarks ... LOL*
Steve Haynie Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 If Hamer never really wanted to do a translucent black finish, why did they choose that finish for a NAMM display guitar? Apparently consumers made a difference in that case. Was the Talladega available at the last summer NAMM show?
mirrorimij Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Can someone explain what is going on with the Gibson with the pickup on the BACK?
BTMN Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Can someone explain what is going on with the Gibson with the pickup on the BACK?IIRC, that is a display guitar for plugging in differant Gibson pickups to A/B. I belive the pickup is just in there for looks. However, I'm not there so....

On the plus side, at least they aren't showing a guitar with an upside-down tiger inlay on it ! -Austin
unfun 75 Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 That blue sparkly SG is awesome... too bad it was made by Gibson.
hamertek98 Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 No Hamer basses. I was thinking the same thing.
jisham Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Those Esquire Customs are freekin' killer IMO! I'm guessing they are Custom Shop???
kizanski Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 LOVE the Evel Knievel Charvel!!That kinda graphic seems like a natural for a Vee, don't you think?

Of the pics that I've seen, nothing really gets my attention. I know the quality is there, but the aesthetics leave me wanting. Aesthetics? Not too high on Hamer's priorities. When your goal is to sell VERY few quantities of guitars, you can get away with it. Tastes vary a lot, so here will always be a small percentage of the population that do think they look nice. But I agree with you.
BubbaVO Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 LOVE the Evel Knievel Charvel!! That kinda graphic seems like a natural for a Vee, don't you think? +1... Or a derivative of the Confederate flag - ala the General Lee - on a Vee.
hamerjunkie Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Did it pain anybody else to see the Fender stool in the Charvel booth in the one picture?.......
