Bruiser Brody Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 I'm a fun-lovin' dude--not a tough guy but a loooong time ago I was trying to start a comedy/rawkpunk band and call it Bruiser Brody. Wow, that was when I joined this board. Time flies!

SteveB Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 I started on communicating on BBS's way back in early 90's. I started by renting a 300 baud modem from our local amiga club. I bought a 300 baud modem to download "stuff" from amiga bbs boards, then moved up to a 1200 baud, finally bought a 2400 baud modem and thought I was in high speed heaven. Anonymity was really valued then so as we started to talk on some of the first boards we made up names. I was really into math at the time. Taking Calculus, set theory, logic and other fun college classes so I was the mathman. I met my wife courtesy of an Amiga BBS, which she actually ran herself from an Amiga 1000. My BBS screen names were always "Sherlock" but I never used that on internet boards. My current screen name is obviously based on my name, my original screen name "Turbo Gerbil" was the name of a band I was in at the time I joined HFC first. Yeah, we didn't take ourselves very seriously.

Ranger Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Ok, ok, just goofin.I've been called "Ranger" since highschool. Based on how far I would travel to camp and fish.
Hardrockracer Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Hardrockracer is a combination that describes my two favorite hobbies/interests. Hard rock is my favorite kind of music and the racer part comes from my interest in auto racing especially the 90s Indycar / CART series. Unfortunately that series is defunct.I sometimes sign with HRR which is basicly abbreviation of Hardrockracer.HRR

django49 Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 MANY years ago, I tried to think up something to turn into a logo and/or pen name or brand (as in branding cattle----as if), starting with my initials-----DJO. Came up with a capital D (on its side) over JO, as in Lazy D.Sounded clever when I was 17. Discovered Django Reinhardt and it seemed like a natural. (NOT a reflection of any jazz ability, mind you.....How many other words use the 3 letters like that?) Adding 49 just means I am old.
stratacus Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I watched Gladiator one too many times. I saw it once.stratocaster + spartacus = stratacus.
pirateflynn Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Pirateflynn was my queensland heeler. RIP, Pirateflynn
bubs_42 Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I'm laughing because I just realized that I hack so many of these names up.
Camstone Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I came up with Camstone back in 1999 when I first joined Ebay and have used it as my handle since in a number of places/ways. My name is Cam and I am in the stone business. Camstone is the name of the corporation behind my biz. Here's what I do: http://www.greenmanstone.com
Thundernotes Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Loud low rumbling- like my bass playing = Thunder notes. Kinda' self explanatory.... And almost irrelevant now because I rarely play bass any more. But, it's me and I'm not ready to change it and confuse everyone(null)

zorrow Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 I already said it, but graphically, this is it: ...plus something more "metal" and "dark", such as this:
