HFC Trade Gone Bad

That scam artist will no longer darken our door here. He has littered plenty of other forums with his bad dealings, posts under a bogus name (claiming it was his son - it just happens to be HIS MSN ID) elsewhere, constantly slings BS excuses, and is simply not somebody we want taking advantage of the good people here.

Since he's got this thread linked to several of his other posts on other Forums, he's now been prevented from altering or deleting his posts.

I have no problem preserving his asshattery here so others can see what the guy is really about. Hopefully, nobody else will fall victim to his scams.

Oh . . . I almost forgot. Any remedies for cleaning up a smelly guitar and case? When I unboxed the Epi and opened the case, the stench of cigarette (???) smoke and cat piss nearly knocked me over.

The best stuff i have used is "Ozium - you can get it at almost any car parts store. Comes in a little spray bottle. Spray the case with it and close it up for a few hours - maybe a day. Park it outside open in the sunlight when you can after that. May take a couple of treatments, but it works pretty well. When i sell a guitar, i usually hit the case with it, unless the case still has that "new guitar smell".

If this were me, I'd sell the guitar, and hope to cover the trade value plus the repair. If you end up taking a loss, chalk it up to experience, and move on.

Uncle Greggy used to recommend Febreeze and Direct sunlight. Cat piss requires lots of sunshine. You might also consider a bag of charcoal to suck up loose weewee byproduct molecules. Back in my fire insurance days we used what was called a "bad air sponge" which sucked up some pretty bad odors from fire debris and water intrusion. I never tried one in a case.

I dunno how to seal the stink into a nicotine stenched guitar. Meguiar's swirl remover and a really thick coat of wax? Gorgomyte would likely destinkify the fretboard.

$30.00 was the amount that STM was offered to resolve the issue. I felt it was fair.

In hind sight, I am just a lurker here and if the hamer owners at HFC don't mind being associated with that picture, why should an epiphone owning piece of crap like me give a rats butt.
