Armitage Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 The headstock look too big to me... like on the import Hamers...
cynic Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 I can happily say the OP was seeing what she thought she was seeing. The serial is in fact 0227, FR installed was obviously aftermarket, but professionally done...not a hack job by any means. Aside from the hardware replaced by the term components, all appears to be original. Octave dots are absolutely narrow spacing, but I'm pretty sure the side dots are wide spacing. She's going to need some TLC, but the price left some room for that
Rebeka Posted October 26, 2012 Author Posted October 26, 2012 Glad I wasn't seeing things. And so happy that someone who will give it the care it needs managed to grab it. Can't wait to see how it looks after it's all prettied up.Congrats!

Man, I'm gonna love that "bring it back to life" thread. can't wait. Congrats to what I hope is, or will again be, a killer 4-digit Standard.

RichRS6 Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Nice one Cynic.Wasn't Zorrow looking for a Chrome Floyd ?Sell that off and taking into account a flightcase has got to be worth $200.00 the seller has paid you to take it away !!Got to be the best deal I've seen for a long time here or anywhere else regardless of the cost to get it restored.Actually, might be worth just tidying it up keeping the Floyd (plenty of Floyd love around) and you'd still have a shitkicking Black 4 Digit.
carfish7 Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Nice score, Cynic! The best part of this is the high probability that another 4-digit will be made whole again and the pool will increase further. That is a trend that I have noticed in vintage motorcycle circles, and now in guitar land as well. Us older cats who revere these pieces that have been seen as utility (or junk) items are taking the time to restore them to former glory, thus enabling the next generation to become fully aware of what they have missed out on.Please keep us in the loop if you decide to have that one massaged a bit.
hamerhead Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 ... are taking the time to restore them to former glory, thus enabling the next generation to become fully aware of what they have missed out on.Until the next cycle, when they re-discover the Floyd Rose trem........
cmatthes Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 May I be the first to suggest a B/W Zebra finish?
whiskeyzulu Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Nice score Cynic and props to Rebeka on spotting and posting.

It was not good last night.

dgstandard Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Great score!!! Looking forward to seeing the end result
cynic Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 No guitar should have 17 holes in an area this small. For the record, none of that dust is mine.
bubs_42 Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 It doesn't look like a hackjob at least. Great Score!
