Great idea on the A7.

But if you mod all of those ex-GR equipped gits, i won't be able to sell my GM70... :P

Fine work, sir. Fine work indeed.

This is gonna be badass to the 10th power...

Can I call dibs already?

I believe I might have dibs by default, but it doesn't matter as I'd be shocked to see him ever sell it.

You could always commission your own version of that one... ;)

Both true.

Nah, that won't be necessary. It will be loaned to him at some point.

Whats's the scoop on the Ric? Always loved the look of seafoam on a Ric...

Essentially, it's an attempt to make a Rickenbacker guitar usable as a modern instrument.

The simple stuff: Adding Jason Lollar pickups, a Mastery bridge and disconnecting the Ric pickup blend control.

The controversial stuff: Stripping the poly from the rosewood board, refretting with medium jumbo frets and not putting any finish back on the fretboard.

It's a 660, so the neck has a playable width, and the profile is in the acceptable medium range for me.

I was tired of riding the Rickenbacker carousel: see a beautiful Ric . . . buy it . . . plug it in and remember tthat new Rics don't sound like old Rics . . . Play it more and remember that anything other than open cowboy chords are physically challenging. Try to bend a string - fail. realize that the pickups are still crap. Put it in the case, wait six months and sell it. See a beautiful Ric . . . . . .
