I'm not a Punisher fan either, but who cares, this guitar is RIGHTEOUSLY BADASS! Hell, I even bought a Punisher T-shirt because it looks like those inlays!

Good luck with the sale, and congrats to the new owner (wish it was me!), that is gonna be Three Grand VERY well spent!

The Punisher is a fictional character, an antihero that appears in comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by writer Gerry Conway and artists John Romita, Sr., and Ross Andru, with publisher Stan Lee providing the name. The Punisher made his first appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man #129 (cover-dated Feb. 1974).

The Punisher is a vigilante who employs murder, kidnapping, extortion, coercion, threats of violence, and torture in his war on crime. Driven by the deaths of his wife and two children, who were killed by the mob during a shootout in New York City's Central Park, the Punisher wages a one-man war on the mob and all criminals in general by using all manner of conventional war weaponry.[1] His family's killers were the first to be slain.[2] A war veteran, Frank Castle is a master of martial arts, stealth tactics, guerrilla warfare, and a wide variety of weapons.

The Punisher's brutal nature and willingness to kill made him a novel character in mainstream American comic books in 1974. By the late 1980s, he was part of a wave of psychologically troubled antiheroes and was featured in several monthly publications, including The Punisher War Journal, The Punisher War Zone, and The Punisher Armory. Despite his violent actions and dark nature, the Punisher has enjoyed some mainstream success (although toned down) on television, making guest appearances on Spider-Man: The Animated Series and even The Super Hero Squad Show. In feature films, Dolph Lundgren portrayed the Punisher in 1989, as did Thomas Jane in 2004, and Ray Stevenson in 2008.

That's my bad. I guess since the upgrade I never really noticed how full my inbox was getting. Never fear! 3 year old messages have sacrificed themselves to make way for the new...

Being the original owner I'd love to have it back, but not at that price tag.

Then don't buy it...

Sorry dude, I wasn't trying to trash your sale. In fact, I PM'd you back in January of 12 and asked if you ever decide to get rid of it to give me a crack at it. I would love to have it back, but I know what I paid for it new and what I sold it for. It truly is a "one of a kind" and with Hamer going tits up it certainly won't be made again.

Here is some info and pic of "the making of":

I bought this from George's Music. I did all the footwork with regards to the Punisher stuff to get it made. They placed the order. Hamer originally said NO! (thanks Jol), because the Punisher logo was copy written. They said if I got a release they would make the guitar. Fat chance is what I bet they were thinking. Hamer was banking on me NOT being able to get the release. I hounded Carol Platt at Marvel Comics to give me a copy write release for a few months before she finally caved and gave it too me in December of 2003. I was instructed that I couldn't use it "on stage" or use the name "Punisher" as Gene Simmons from Kiss has that copy write (for his bass). I had contacted Ron Thorn before I even talked to Hamer about getting the guitar made. He was all for doing the fret work. I paid him directly for the board and he sent it to Hamer and the rest is history. The guitar delivered in June of 2004. The EMG pups are factory, but they didn't route for a battery box. I had the toggle moved, because I don't like reaching for the switch. I hand picked the wood with Jol and he worked on the color. While touring the factory there was a trans black guitar being built and he showed me the color. I didn't like it. There was too much brown under color. He read my face and asked what I didn't like. After a brief discussion he took to me a staff member that does the staining/painting and instructed him what do and asked to be contacted when the guitar was being worked on. The guitar is actually very black, but shows a great deal of detail in the flame top as you'll see below. To all interested "Its a phucking MONSTER guitar" plain and simple. Here is some porn!

I'll put that up against any cartoonish "Uncle Dickhead" guitar any day.

With a back-story like THAT, you should have kept it on the basis of that ALONE.

Formula73, you need to keep this...until I can buy it from you! Man, I wish I knew when THAT might be!

This is one of those top 4 Hamers from a previous thread.

and I'd like to add, sheepishly, that I am proud to have a post of mine in a crunchee signature....

Am I alone in the thought that $3k for this guitar is a heck of a deal? I also thought this one would have been snapped up within the first hour.

I gotta be honest, before anybody commits, I want to post enough pics to ease everybody's concerns about condition and I'll even mic the neck thickness. I've had a few offers and requests for shipping quotes but that's on hold til I get the pics up. I didn't expect so much, so fast! I guess it'll get a good home.
