sixesandsevens Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Edit: Here's the gallery of all the pics I've posted to date... http://imgur.com/a/cR21f The basic specs: 24.75" scale Side dots only Rosewood board Vintage carve neck Bound body Quilty top Tiger-eye finish Tuned baritone (13-56) from the artist. Like a freakin' angel wing this one... Note the conspicuous(ly awesome) lack of inlays. ... more to follow.
soli'd Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Man, first Shark shows us the top for 45, now this. Mike certainly is finishing the run strong. Love the baller blank fretboard.
django49 Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 I am, more and more, liking boards without inlays, esp when the wood is that great.
specialk Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Sorry for my cynicism, but I kinda figured the first few Ultimates would be killer, with the best wood available, and that the later ones would be a bit "meh", with more pedestrian wood used. Boy was I wrong!!!! Every single one is gorgeous. You guys that jumped on this deal hit it good!
sixesandsevens Posted March 2, 2016 Author Posted March 2, 2016 ... an oldie but a goodie. My how she's changed since then...

My short list currently includes: Trans orange (like the studio in my avatar) Trans purple burst Trans black A green-blue fade or a natural-brown fade. Here's an example of the latter (but I'm still waiting to hear back from Mike about the do-ability of that kind of finish): In all cases it'll have natural/brown back and sides.
Jakeboy Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 That almost looks tiger eye brown! Just awesome! Love it!
sixesandsevens Posted April 14, 2016 Author Posted April 14, 2016 @Jakeboy - Good catch! It is Tiger Eye. What really blows me away is that it hasn't been buffed yet, so it should end up looking even more striking when it's all done. I can't wait to see a full top-shot of it with the finish on. It's gonna look awesome with the blank fretboard too.

sixesandsevens Posted April 15, 2016 Author Posted April 15, 2016 So... Who else really wants to just b.s. about my new guitar? I was actually thinking of requesting it with a sustainblock early on, but decided that I'd stick with "the formula". I'm also considering having Mike string it BEADGB with 13-56s right out of the gate to facilitate the heavy.
