We need to talk about the fact that the switch ring in that shot has binding on it. Is that a thing? It's definitely not on my Shishkov. Can you add that aftermarket like a poker chip or do you have to swap out the whole switch? Also, thank you again Mike. Quote

It has a gold nut to match the rest of the hardware, but no binding. 3 Quote

On my monitor the color is such that I mistook it for ivoroid (or equivalent) and not gold. The poker chip was just a reference to the way you can add/swap the "lead/rhythm" indicator ring around the standard LP switch without having to desolder/resolder anything. 1 Quote

hamerhead Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 Is that a Spruce top with the F-hole and P90s? Nice! Love the extra deep cutaway. 12 hours ago, ArnieZ said: Woo Hoo !! 3 out of four using some version of our inlays, Mike!!😀 I think they're catching on arniez Yeah - you started something there, Arnie. ETA: I really dig the switch placement on 0089...👌 Playing a Les Paul for 40 years will make you do that. And I don't think color will matter. P90s, f-holes and spruce - it's going to be a killer, regardless. 3 Quote

ETA: I really dig the switch placement on 0089...👌 That was the hardest part on #0070, what color?!?!?!!? I went out and searched every acoustic guitar with cool colors over Spruce. Only hurtle is that as Mike pointed out, when you carve it the grain no longer is all in the same direction, so going some colors may not come out like you think it will. 6 Quote

soli'd Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 @bubs_42 Love the way #70 turned out. You chose... wisely. My dilemma is either full natural/clear vs. fully opaque. I've got a natural newport pro so that would be rendundant, but a matching set, one HB, the other P90 and offset could be winning, too. These are the things I choose to wring my hands over during these trying times. 🙃 1 2 Quote
