Hamerica Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 Studio Custom, Thanks for giving us a run down on the Steve Stevens evolution. Your admiration of all things Steve Stevens is greatly appreciated. Hamerica

it's me HHB Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 Do they get better sequentially? I guess remove the bolt on
Studio Custom Posted June 24, 2016 Author Posted June 24, 2016 Better is subjective. I can say the necks have progressively gotten thicker.
Disturber Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 Ole Snake Plisken has found a home among friends. Bet he likes it there. Miss him sometimes, damn fine guitar.
Jeff R Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 You need to add the "glow" Charvel or a copy of it. This had to be the guitar that inspired what was to be the SSIII, or ultimately the Centaura, and the Washburns.

I'm curious-were the Charvel and the Washburn SS models short scale like the Hamer SS's? Loved the Washburn SS, especially with the Famous Monster logo on the head stock. I guess I'm drawn to the more traditional Strat shapes.

Do you mind giving a quick rundown of how they differ? Just on appearance, the Washburn looks like it might be the lightest.
Jakeboy Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 Yeah a rundown of the differences would be cool....are the Washburns Fender or Gibson scale? I find it interesting how players evolve towards a specific guitar type for their main axe as they age.
Studio Custom Posted October 23, 2016 Author Posted October 23, 2016 The Hamer SSI and Knaggs are 24.75" The Hamer SSII, Washurn, Hollloskull and Suhr are 25.5" The PRS 25"
Sugartune Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 Very cool. Now, is there an evolution of the Steve Stevens hairstyle? That's what I'd really like to know and see.
