I’m on the lookout for a 3 hole Duotone, is this F-hole better or worse?

Wouldn’t really say better or worse. It’s appointed differently. The 3-hole Duotones had a flat spruce top. This Duotone Custom has an arched top with the f-hole, binding and Victory inlays.

The question is one of preference. Do you want a flat top or an arch top with more upscale aesthetic appointments?  Either version will play and sound great.

Your statement is phrased perfectly, as opposed to my overly simplified question 😆 thanks for that. I was considering that as well so it made for an easy decision. I guess it can’t hurt to have one of each right

The acoustic pickup in the Duotone Custom is much better. On the three holer, it's an Ovation transducer/pickup.

^^ This, hence my "better" above.  The arch top is also more comfortable to play than the flat top and just has a more refined feel to it.  Three-holers have their fans for good reason but in terms of which is the better guitar, generally speaking, the Custom specs are an improvement.

SOLD sign on the Improve now.

NO!!!  When did this get posted?!  I could have sworn that I checked Dave's listing just last night.  What a great price on an Improv!

I've been checking Dave's on most days and just missed this one.  I think a Duotone is in my future.  Just picked up three other guitars in the past month or so. A G&L ASAT Classic, Eastman T486 and a '91 Gibson Studio Lite.  Still playing with these new toys and very, very happy with each !!!  Three very different and distinct styles of guitar too !!!

I’ve been on the lookout for one (specifically a 3 hole) for over a year, and finally was able to snag this (f hole) one. They sell quick once posted. Good luck, as I’ll still be looking for a 3 hole.
