Korina Artist what's a fair price?

Just got an itch to have one again.

There's one on the verb with some pickup  and tailpiece mods.  No affiliation. https://reverb.com/item/67743948-hamer-artist-korina-

I know there aren't a whole lot out   there so grab it?  Seems a little high to me with the mods.  Although  these days mods don't seem to bring down prices the way they used to.

Hope this is OK to post in this section.

I think if you can find one under 2k you are getting a great guitar at a fair price. Easily reversed mods should be considered on their merits. On that guitar the TP6 won't hurt it and it's easy to fix if you don't care for it. Same with pickups. But I think the value goes up if oem electronics are oem. No original hsc drops price a bunch IMO.

I’d snag that one.  Change that tailpiece immediately, but it looks pretty good to me.  I’d probably swap out the tuner buttons for something lightweight, since that’s possibly the reason that TP is on there.

Looks in good shape. You may love the pickups and a pair of SDs are pretty cheap if you decided to sell it in stock setup. That tailpiece is… interesting. But a normal Gotoh is cheap to get. Looks nice!

Not necessarily... you'd have to pull out the TP-6 studs and hope the surrounding wood or clear Lacquer doesn't chip and the original studs will fit back in... but I personally don't mind the TP-6 and would make a great player~

I guess what I meant was that changing the tail piece is a reversable mod. Obviously if you don't have the experience or tools to do the job yourself, you would need to seek professional help.

Speaking of which - noticing that the owner swapped out the stock Duncan P-90s...I seem to recall many years ago BCR Greg posted a procedure for 'taming' those hot and custom P-90s by removing one of the bar magnets.  Anyone else remember that?  I'm mulling that mod over for my Artist Korina.

My AK is my first Hamer and I will  keep it forever. Such great guitars.

I got mine back when they were regularly $900-1,000, so it's mentally sort of weird for me to say what's 'good' for a price. I did say how criminally undervalued they were back then though. To a point, they still are, but you see some of the higher priced ones sitting for awhile. The price isn't super killer great to me, but it seems decent/reasonable for what it is.

Everything looks reasonably reversible on this one. Try the current pickups, you may like them. If not, the Gravelin's I got for my P90 are sleazy sweet.

My HB came with replacement ebony tuner buttons, they are cool. It got cooler when I put a set of Gravelin's in that, too.

@Citrus, if you're still looking, the one I posted earlier has dropped in price to $2K:

It's also being advertised at the same price on Craigslist:

It's the start/end of a long month and the beginning of Summer, so there might be bargains to be had.  And regular bills to be paid.  And places to go to.  And bills to be paid because somebody took a trip for the long holiday weekend.  Decisions, decisions...
