lord nelson Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 That's badass. One of the coolest standards I've seen
bruce919 Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Ohhh ya!!! That is a nice one. Congrats. That make two Standards with unusual tops that Hamer has done recently. My Spruce top & now the Spalted top.
SirDouglas Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 very nice cut of wood... lack of color actually makes it stand out more and the graining adds to that.. Randy
silentman Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Spalted w/ flame...? can't say I've rver seen that. Very cool.
darc Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 That's awesome. I've never seen wood even remotely like that on a Hamer.
cmatthes Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Wow. I am speechless.I wasn't sure how that would come out when I heard a rumor about it somewhere, but that is truly STUNNING!The figure and spalt combination there is unlike anything I've seen ANYWHERE.The new owner is gonna love that one, for sure.Beautiful job all around!
MCChris Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 I thought Hamer wasn't interested in doing things that were "too obvious."Seriously, holy crap! Whoever concepted that gets major kudos from me.
bruce919 Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Dean has made one like that for a few years now.
kizanski Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Dean has made one like that for a few years now. Yea, but these are GOOD guitars.
bruce919 Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Dean has made one like that for a few years now. Yea, but these are GOOD guitars. Good point.
peedenmark7 Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 wow, pics up already..well, I guess I will really need to see/touch this particular one in person, before I say anything about it.. will post a full update on friday ..john
atquinn Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Sweet! I'm a little surprised that Hamer built it given Jol's attitude towards "dirty wood", but that looks awesome! Especially with the black hardware and ebony fretboard.-Austin
David B Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Nicely done. Black Hadware make the guitar. Very cool - Creme would look great too.
edgar_allan_poe Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 That is completely bad assed. I am also shocked...Jol referred to Spalted Maple as "pallet wood" and openly mocked other guitar makers that use it at the last HFC. I am glad he changed his mind cuz that guitar is the shiznits. Great score.
BTMN Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 El and Pee, Great looking guitar. It reminds me of a Desert landscape in the full shot. Neat flaming to the top also. I haven't seen that in a Spalted guitar. I too remember those comments Poe and am suprised that they built it after hearing those words. Good for you Peedenmark it looks great!Ctrixie will have to chime in about the quality of her Dean USA Spalted V she has had for a couple years. The Dean USAs are top notch made for the most part as with any maker. The past 5-8 years they have put out a lot of well made stuff. Hamer quality? Maybe on a good day one or more reach it but not every guitar. I wouldn't expect it from them due to the volume built. Time Capsules, which the Spalted ones are, are all Hamer level but OIMNSHO.
